Sadly the scumbags from cross the road tried to demolish it without permission, they have been stopped by the council and thier application refused. Now they have a new plan which must be thwarted. They are called Ringleys and claim to be property lawyers , nobody should consult them as they are the lowest.
26 Jul 2014 04:09

My information is that this place has been bought by the local brewery who doubtless will turn it into an overpriced crap beer joint,
27 Oct 2013 22:11
Well there has been another name change it's now called the Beatrice and sells real ale , back in time it was a charrington pub called the Princess Beatrice much used by the Irish of Camden then the big beer co that owned it decided to make it an O'neills run by a bunch of aussies , after several name changes it now appears to be run by spanish speeking people it has Fullers London Pride, Old Hooky and Kozel on draft, a little pricey but it is clean.
9 Sep 2013 01:37

18 Aug 2013 14:55
i attended the grand reopening of this well established pub . There has been a vast improvement with a complete clean up removing all of the old dirt and clutter and the terrible staff , gone is the old piano and the filthy net curtains , there is now comfortable seating all round the pub with new stools at the bar and the doors on the side where the beer menu used to be are now opened allowing more air to enter. The toilets are now downstairs and are so much cleaner than before the stink is gone. There are seats outside on windsor terrace so the photograph at the top of this page will need changing. 10 real ales from Adnams, Dark Star, Windsor and Eton, Clarence and Fredericks ,Franklins, Hackney ,By the Horns , Portobello and Sambrooks were the selection at time of writing. There are more in the cellar i was told, hopefully these new owners will succede , i also reccomend there hot dogs and the fact that the London Drinker magazine was available .
4 Jun 2013 16:34

The Grafton Arms, Kentish Town
Attended the official launch last nite , an interesting pub run by a lovely young couple with a very effecient manager . It has a large island bar with a coffee machine and a display cabinet for hot snacks neither of which appeared to be in use as yet .Six real ales on offer Landlord , two from Adnams and three locales .I had the Hackney best bitter which was superb , London Fields and ELB were also on offer .For lager drinkers Camden town Helles and Estrella Damm were the alternatives to the three mainstream available .Draft Guiness and Symonds cyder were the others on keg .Bottled beers from Camden Town , Brewdog, Brooklyn, Sam Adams , Goose Island and Modelo were available . Soft drinks for the designated driver included Fentimans and Bottle Green . A good selection there was also wines and spirits and Pipers crisps . The only thing i could find slightly wrong was the fact that the bar was too highly polished allowing your drink to slide away from you this can be easily rectified though. There were well over 150 people at the opening but the eight bar staff were coping helped by three very large doormen . The clientele were a mixture of locals and young trendies , two senior members of North London CAMRA were seen at the bar . The scotch eggs and pork pies were most enjoyable i think this is an improvment on the previous incarnation , it's now just called the Grafton.
29 Sep 2012 16:24
This appalling piece of crap is thankfully now closed and gutted , it is due to reopen as a pizza place .
22 Aug 2012 14:50

This pub is now called the Lamb and is selling real ale, i had a lovely pint of Hackney Best , the guy behind the bar was very pleasant.
For those of you who are not real ale drinkers there is a fine selection of non mainline beers on offer including Camden town and Brewdog . The cider offer is Harry Sparrow from Aspall, lager drinkers can have Budvar or Meantime . The largest selection is bottled from the UK, USA, Germany , Australia, Singapore and Namibia. A vast improvement on previous incarnations, i shall certainly be returning.
18 Jul 2012 14:28

The Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak
This pub has only been open for 1.75 years and already has been voted London cider pub of the year , North London CAMRA branch pub of the year and now Greater London pub of the year . For a pub to be this popular so quick is testament to it's good food ale and cider, what more could you want ?

Has recently reopened as a rocknroll bar serving hot dogs , coffee, genuine Czech lager ,Pilsner Urquell on draft , Budvar in bottles ,plus real ale and cider . With a late licence and space to dance to the fab jukebox sounds this could become the new inplace in camden .It's now called Joe's.

8 Nov 2010 11:31
This pub is currently on the market for two million pounds , it will probaly be bought by a developer , demolished and rebuilt as two blocks of apartments , which would be okay .
1 Oct 2010 17:31
This pub is appalling the service is diabolical , the staff are just one step above retard , they bar people for nothing and the CAMRA man has stopped delivering the newspaper.
22 Sep 2010 15:39
This pub is scheduled to close in November, but it's not worth a visit , just let it die in peace.
22 Sep 2010 15:31
The Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak
Just 3 weeks to go for all cider drinkers as on monday July 26 this pub receives the CAMRA London cider pub of the year award . As well as 8 ciders they also have 7 real ales usually including one from Williams Bros of Alloa , at the moment it's Midnight Sun a wonderful stout at 5.6 % , they also have Brentwood and Red Squirrel , so it's well worth a visit .
6 Jul 2010 14:42
Sadly i do know , maybe one of the owners is continuing in the trade but the pub is for sale , an offer of 1.2 million has been made , developers wish to buy the entire site including the industrial units next door . If some of you think this is just a rumour then look for the advert in the London Drinker which you will not find and then ask yourselves why are they not advertising .
10 Jun 2010 16:43
The Crescent, Mornington Crescent
This place is now called the Lyttleton arms after the late jazz musician Humphrey Lyttleton , it is a vastly improved pub with 5 real ales priced between 3 and 3.40 a pint , an interesting selection of draft and bottled lagers including brooklyn and sierra nevada , the cider selection could be better and i have yet to eat there but first impressions are favorable . Will return next week .

They are open until midnight sun to wed and 2am thur to sat. They have recently undergone a massive price hike , Greene King Abbot is now 3.60 a pint and the bottled belgian ales are 4. Service is variable but it is still one of the more pleasant pubs of Camden.

The bar was packed at eight on a weekday which is good , all of the ales were drinkable and i noticed they had Perroni for the lager lovers alongside the usual crap.

They were also serving Purity Pure Gold in the main bar.The barbecue was very good with excellant burgers .Tony and son did well behind the bar aided by a hot springbok .The whiskeys will have to wait till another day , i did notice a wonderful selection of malts and irish , but after ESB one cannot handle them . Prices are 2.90 a pint with a 40p discount for members , a welcome addition to the area . More people need to find this pub it could become the Wenlock of N19. A former Camra pub of the season highly commended by the two who know .
13 Apr 2009 15:20
This pub has improved of late , the Mexican barman is good , if they got rid of the arrogant canadian it would be even better .The bottled German beers are a good selection now that Dominic is well and back behind the bar .

17 Jul 2008 17:49
Spaniards Inn, Hampstead Heath
I found the recent comments rather negative and not called for , visiting last night with a group of real ale drinkers i found the selection was very good, they had IPA, Pride, Adnams and Harveys plus two guest ales . They also had a cider and a perry both from the cask , the selection of lagers were all imported and they had the wonderful Sierra Nevada pale ale on draft . there was a selection of bottled beers that rivaled many a west end pub and all reasonbly priced. This is in the Good Beer Guide and rightly so.
25 Jun 2008 15:19
The Junction Tavern, Kentish Town
Well the beer festival is over , we will have to wait three months for the next one . Last weekend was good , i liked the Old Moor Porter, the Polar Eclipse, the Lakeland Gold and the Lincolnshire Imp. Congratulations to Jackie and Chris for a great festival. Last night was the presentation of the North London CAMRA pub of the year award given to chris by John Cryne the chairman of the branch . Some 25 members and numerous drinkers greatly enjoyed themselves drinking Hopscotch with BOB and the Village Idiot while avoiding the Summer Lightning eating olives. The rain came after 11 with great ferocity.
28 May 2008 18:31
The Swan and Edgar, Marylebone
Nine of us visitied here , one of our group a european was attacked by a foul mouthed local who then verbally abused all of us , we left leaving just three people in the pub . If the management prefer one local to a group of nine who would have stayed for a second pint then they can go bancrupt with pleasure. I will certainly never return and will inform all my drinking buddies to avoid .
7 May 2008 23:26
Went there for the first time this year on Tuesday, had Saltaire Amarillo Gold and Coach house Cheshire Gold , was impressed by the quality and the service . The young German barmaid was ace . I will be going there again in June .

The Junction Tavern, Kentish Town
i had the last half of the Nelson Loose Cannon on Tuesday and it was brilliant , it was replaced in five minutes by the Trafalgar bitter which was also great . The brewery is actually the old Flagship brewery with a new name . After all the good Cornish beers it's nice to have some Kentish beers . Looking forward to the end of the month when they have the beer festival . It is much closer to Tuffnell Park tube than Kentish Town about five mins walk. If you are not in a hurry and like me prefer the bus to the subway than the 134 {northbound} stops right outside the pub. Dont forget after the festival finishes on Tuesday May 27 the pub is receiving it's pub of the year award from CAMRA. It's gonna be a great week and a fitting reward for the excellant lanlords , management and staff for making it such a superb pub.
1 May 2008 16:56
without a doubt the best spoon in north london, the beer festival was a fabulous success , all of the beers were superb as was the food . A pint of polish plum beer plus roast pork ,apple sauce , roast potatoes , carrots, peas, brocoli and gravy for 5.99 , need i say more.
15 Apr 2008 13:01
This is a vastly improved pub with better service and nine of the ten pumps serving festival ale .
3 Apr 2008 14:32
The Wetherspoons real ale festival is happening right now with 11 of the 12 pumps serving festival ales .The 3 glasses for the price of a pint is a good deal. The Polish plum beer is very moorish as is the german St Georgen Brau, the staff are to be congratulated for the handling of the event.

The Junction Tavern, Kentish Town

This great pub has recently been given a makeover and is now larger with more seating and a new carpet. I am reliably informed that north london branch of campaign for real ale have voted it pub of the season. There are at least 8 ales on tap with more to come .
22 Jan 2008 11:55

23 Nov 2007 15:14

The Junction Tavern, Kentish Town
Dont have a clue what the last contributor is saying, the bosses have been the same for more than two years, the managers are all very nice and good at the job ,have never found any of them brusque or impolite. I can only presume that mr matthews is the owner or manager of a rival bar and wants to turn people off of going to the junction, ignore him .
28 Jul 2007 15:56
hook norton hooky gold is the current guest, there are 55 belgian and dutch beers plus 31 german , that is enough for most people .
16 Jul 2007 14:22
This is the best spoon in north london, a new entry in the 2007 GBG and i am told it will be in the 2008 guide, camra recently voted it the pub of the season. There is tobe a beer festival starting on the 23rd of july. So be there then for an oakham event.
6 Jul 2007 18:45

26 Apr 2007 18:12
a vastly improved pub the old parkway bar was a dive, you now have youngs bitter at 2.40 a pint in much better condition than the spreadeagle, wonderful afordable thai food lunch ,starter and main course for just 5 pounds. i saw the local camra guy in there, thats a good sign.
26 Apr 2007 17:51
mauldons cuckoo and skinners cornish knocker are the current guests, sadly the andechs doppelbock is finished.

The Junction Tavern, Kentish Town
sadly tom has left the pub , however jess, sinead and stuart are very competent and i'm sure we all look forward to the 4th of may. at this moment in time beers from cornwall are on, sharps and skinners , yeah.
19 Apr 2007 18:08
t he london porter was replaced by gales festival mild, i had the last pint on tuesday , they are now selling ipa. as regards recent comments wetherspoons are cheap, as for the mice i can remember when i counted 14 in the head of steam, it's the building work at st pancras which has disturbed them.
19 Apr 2007 17:59
The Somerstown Coffee House, Euston
this is a great food pub , the platters are superb, wonderful pate fine dips and fries that are divine. the french gal is well cute it is not a suprise that CAMRA used it to launch there new guide as the bombardier is excellant.
8 Mar 2007 00:23
The pub now has great guest ales on draught, so far they have had otter ale, wickwar rite flanker, strathleven claverhouse, o hanlons yellow hammer and cotleigh kookaburra , the next one is triple fff moondance. This makes a great addition to the fab bottles so get drinking.
8 Mar 2007 00:13
a great pub for highgate 9 real ales, the skinners ,B&Tand moorhouses were the best. food was highly recommended especially the ham egg and chips. quick table clearance.
2 Feb 2007 01:36
The Junction Tavern, Kentish Town
This is definetly one of the best real ale pubs in london, camra rated in the good beer guide for 4 years. jacky is one of the best real ale landladies in london, so someone dosent like nethergate ales ,personal ale choice should not be a reason to critisize a pub. Tom and Sinead are doing a great job, there are 3 wooden hand ales at the moment all good, plus deuchars as the house beer so get down and rock, Richard Hawley as background was superb.
31 Jan 2007 13:08
Went here tonight, great beer selection, adnams and harveys bitters, archers golden, caledonian great scot and the wonderful adnams tally ho. service was good, atmosphere was too, all in all a good night.
24 Jan 2007 02:40
A great new range of bottled beers, wonderful to have kevin back, he is such a fab guy to discuss the beers with , watch out for the american guy who never seems to drink anything less than 6% abv yet still remains totally coherent after 5 or 6 bottles.
22 Jan 2007 14:46
A great pub to go on a saturday night, an iteresting group at the bar especially a fab eastender with a walking stick , think he was called bob . An excellant barman good service, wonderful to find taddy porter and imperial stout.
22 Jan 2007 14:35
We hired the conservatory the other night and the service was superb. Great bar snacks especially the chilli dip. Beer range is average but for an area where the nearest pubs serve bass and greene king the selection is perfect. Sandwiched between the junction and the oxford on a not easy to find back st it is good enough.
19 Jan 2007 08:16
This is a great addition to an area which already has the junction tavern and the pineapple. The beer was superb especially the grand union ,itchen valley and brakespears were also on offer. The service was excellant, no complaints.
17 Jan 2007 11:38

11 Jan 2007 23:37
The Jerusalem Tavern, Clerkenwell
Paid my first visit of the year this week, the mild was superb, Dan was his usual happy self and the clientele were as intelligent and sociable as always.Sadly the chef was ill so there was no great nosh available but who cares .
11 Jan 2007 23:30
H.aving used this as my local for many years, I am well used to the behaviour of the quinn family, the sarky one Vince has a great sense of humour but does not tolerate stupidity, Pat the main man may not hear as well as he did but will always say was this the bottle you wantedD. The great thing is the mixture of people who frequent this pub and the superb range of belgian dutch and german beers. Try the drie ringen bok or the belgian guiness.
8 Jan 2007 20:52
This pub is under new management. it stocks 3 real ales. its a welcome addition to the area just 3 mins walk from the Coronet. Try it.
8 Jan 2007 20:15
Quinn's, Camden
I was in here the other nite and heard the manager give out the most obnoxious abuse to a sweet old irish lady concerning the death of a friend. How this piece of twisted scum is allowed to carry on like this is beyond me.
