The pub is reinstated. It is smart and clean and aspirational and full of people who's coat cost more than my monthly mortgage. The beer is decent and it's a nice walk to the Gents. But nothing to make it memorable as such. terenced - 22 Apr 2014 15:34 |
This pub is currently being used as the site office for the Ardmore Group which is responsible for the construction project to the rear. Once the project is complete, the intention, according to the Hackney planning report, is to reinstate the pub. Oasthouse - 15 Dec 2010 02:53 |
This pub is closed and scheduled for demolition no sad loss. mr.toes.5_ - 19 Feb 2010 04:30 |
Funny..one one comment on this prime postion pub. Its a run down place, with scant on tap to tempt. Totally empty on Thursday night, but I'd imagine it gets more busy after work. Service was OK, as far as it went. There are three pool tables downstairs...quite rare for this part of the world. Not terrible, but there are better nearby, unless you want to play pool. I didnt like this pub and I found the barmaid to be quite rude. I had to wait for her to finishing talking to her friends and then when she did grace me with her attention she was curt and obnoxious. From what I can remember there were three hand pumps, one of which was dispensing below standard Courage Best and one was off and the other was unused. There were also some standard lagers available. There is a balcony overlooking a downstairs section and I spotted at least two pool tables. There was also a large plasma screen on the wall. This is not a great pub and Ill not be returning.
