A converted hunting lodge belonging to the Duke and Duchess of Rutland this is unsurprisingly a little upmarket.A very comfortable lounge, often with a log fire in winter. The Manners is a frequent entry in the Good Beer Guide and is noted for the quality of its food.

A superbly run pub overlooking the largest village green in England. The pub is the 2009 CAMRA Pub of the Year for Nottinghamshire. This is remarkable in that being a tied house (Marston's) the choice of beers are restricted yet there are always 4 real ales available in invariably first class condition. There is also a full menu of reasonably priced high quality meals.

The Cliffe Inn, Radcliffe on Trent
The Cliffe Inn has been renamed the Horse Chestnut and is the third pub owned by Bartsch Inns.
It underwent a 400 000 renovation and enlargement in 2006 and is no longer recognisable as the same pub.
There are now 8 real ales available at all times and are invariably served in perfect condition.Despite the costs of the renovation beer prices are very much below average for the area.
There is a good food selection , quality is high and prices are moderate.

Excellent range of well kept beers and plenty of reasonably priced food.
Unlike a previous correspondent, at last a pub which deals with the inconsiderate and selfish people who don't know how to turn off their mobile phones .
