Large High St pub, with a traditional air to it. Spoilt by clientele and landlord. Never have I so regretted a visit to a pub.

Sheps pub with an old fashioned charm, ie basic but wholesome. Not a fan of the landlord or the beer.

I quite like it during the day-locals and students/visitors mingle easily. Has a reputation for trouble on weekend evenings.

The Charles Dickens, Broadstairs
Seafront bar/restaurant. Quite smart, so probably justifies high prices.

The Bradstow Mill, Broadstairs
Lively locals pub near the station. For a seaside town, I find it a bit dark and dingy. Thorley pub, so expensive.

Cleaner now. Tries to mimic Wetherspoons, but if they open around the corner this place will have to up it's game.

Rough, noisy and grimy. And that is just the clientele. Ale said to be well served, but expensive.

Old fashioned pub, without much in the way of real ale. Try hard with a happy hour and cheap meals. Nothing special, but a step up from chain pubs and King Street. Has a certain camp quality.

Nice old fashioned boozer, lots of real ale, but how many smug old soaks can you get in one small pub?

Now called The Gallery. Bright and airy bar/eatery daytimes with good drinks offers, club at weekends.

Brewers Fayre restauant, now with buffet offering, Premier Inn next door. Not sure it can be judged as a pub.

Friendly local Sheps pub, with two bars and a pool table.

Sheps pub on a busy road, but recently renovated. Car park and garden.

New landlord but hopefully not much else will change at this quaint back street Sheps pub.

Fairly typical Wetherspoons, with the upstairs bar better for families/food/seaview.

I think this was one of the first micropubs in Thanet, still selling real ales and cider from stillages. Now serve local food, which upsets some traditionalists.

Said to have recently re-opened, probably as a micropub with a new name.

Friendly local pub, near Theatre Royal. Said to be closed for refurb pre reverting to old name of London Tavern. Some bikers.

The Duke Of Marlborough, Maidstone
Rough and ready locals pub with good landlord/lady.

Much improved Greene King pub, with even the gents now presentable. Ever reliable Ron remains behind the bar daytimes.

I believe this is still closed following extensive flooding. Was a large ale house popular with students.

Sheps pub on outskirts of town. Real ale fans tend to go the extra 5 mins to the Flower Pot, so this remains quite a basic locals pub, with pool, darts and Sky sports.
11 Aug 2015 10:07
Popular locals pub with good reputation for it's Sheps led ales.

The Crafty Alehouse, Maidstone
I think this is Maidstone's first micro pub, opened in cafe premises on the ever busy Earl Street. Not visited yet so no score given.

Quite a pub-by feel to this Wetherspons, even allowing standing at the bar.

The Dog and Bull, Croydon
Old fashioned boozer set in the market area. Nice feel/decor/garden, but prices out of kilter with the area.
