Used to be the local's Local until ruined by the policies of Vale Brewery and Wells and Youngs. Closed in 2012 and converted to a house in 2013.

The Britannia Inn, Buckingham

Unfortunately if you haven't visited this pub before you're out of luck as it closed in March 2010. Lamented locally as it's another pub gone, but had lost its way over recent years and had become a Chinese takeaway with a bar in front.

So farewell then Bag and Dibber, Engineer, Prince of Prussia, Britannia, George and Freeman - all (apparently) names that this pub had over the years. Probably going to be flats for students.

Mitre, Buckingham

Pub is under new management as of August 2008. The new owners have put a lot of money into smartening the interior and especially the garden, which is transformed - nearly doubled in size. The basic offering of the pub is still real ales (three at all times, some local, and a scrumpy) and sport on three large flat screens. The reputation the pub had a few years back for being a student/kids' pub has now gone, although it is still busy on a Friday/Saturday.
