I previously went to the Spotted dog in May and we loved it. We decided to take our whole family there for a meal on Monday (bank holiday) we did book this time as there was 10 of us. We were again warmly greeted by the staff. We had a lovely long table in the dinning room, we all ordered our food which came out all together nice and hot. I had the Lemon sole which was cooked to perfection, my husband had the fish and chips which he really enjoyed ( his only comment was he wished they had mushy peas).Everyone in our group thorougly enjoyed their meals and day. It was so nice to have the manageress remember us from our last visit, made us feel very welcomed. The Spotted Dog has to be one of our favourite pubs and we will return again!

I have found all the staff at the Bottle house and the Spotted dog to be more then friendly and welcoming. Great food and beer as well!!!

My wife and I went to the castle last week for a meal. We thought the service and food was great. Everyone was friendly and there was a great atmosphere. Nice to see our local pubs using local produce and local ales . We will be back! Other great pubs that we have been to recently and are well worth a visit to are The Bottle house, the Rock and the Spotted Dog all great value for money with local ales.

My family and I turned up at the Spotted Dog for Sunday lunch last week. We hadn't booked, the manageress said they were full, but if we didn't mind having a drink and waiting she would fit us in. The staff were all very friendly & attentive to us, they kept us informed on the progress of when our table was going to be available. When we did get sat, some half an hour later, we ordered our food and we were more than happy with our Sunday roasts, real value for money. The food was hot, good choice of vegetables and the meat was tender. We throughly enjoyed our day out at the spotted dog, we will just have to remember to book next time.

The Rock, Chiddingstone Hoath
I've been a regular at this pub for a number of years now, it was taken over about a month ago by a nice couple who seem to be fitting in well. I had a pint of larkins, there was a problem with it but the landlord soon changed the barrel and it was then back to the true traditinal larkins taste. Had a lovely meal, had the liver and bacon, good honest home cooked food. Great atmosphere in the pub as always. I love this little pub and its really nice to see that even with the change of ownership nothing has changed. You don't find may pubs like this little gem anymore, lets hope it continues to be supported, would hate to see it close.
