The Kings Arms, Waterloo

Hi I like to reply to the last review in defence of the the kings arms. Ive been coming here off and on over the past year so heres my currant take on things at the pub at the moment things are quieting down for the pub after a ruckus Christmas and new year which was for the most part a fun time when I visited this particular pub with parties going on and meeting of mates for a bit of grub and a pint,There is generally quite a buzz of conversation from the many regulars, especially later in the evening when it gets quite busy. this pub into arguably the best in Waterloo for a drink. Also does very good value food at lunchtimes. the real ales are kept great

The Marlborough, Richmond

Hi I like to reply to the last review in defence of the the Marlborough. Ive been coming here off and on ove r the past year as you can tell be the reviews Ive posted so heres my currant take on things at the pub at the moment things are quieting down for the pub after a ruckus Christmas and new year which was for the most part a fun time when I visited this particular pub with parties going on and meeting of mates for a bit of grub and a pint, new year festivities were a blinder with a great band fancy dress and dancing all the staff were great throughout even Andy though hes not a party person but I do recall him smiling at least once. Now Ive eaten here with and without my family, at the weekend and in the week and the food has most of the time hit the spot. The steak and always been cook to perfection and the steak and ale pies lovely ( well so Im told as Im the vegetarian in my family) Ive had the veggie curry at least 3 times when theyve not had the mushroom filo parcels on or there aubergine and mushroom lasagne on and I was busting at the seams ( Im a handsome 12 .5 stone too) so I think the calling it a childs portion is a bit twisted perception all in in all its been a marvellous year in Richmond and my favourite pub so good luck to you all.

The Marlborough, Richmond

I was there last Sunday and i saw was besieged bar and a pack garden yes i was told there was a wait on food which gave me the choice to leave and find another place to eat or stay and wait and well worth the wait it was i had lamb shank and my friend had the steak they was fine yes the wait was annoying but when at the bar all i saw was consent movement from the staff and a couple of customers being indecisive as for slobbering into the beer i saw none of that.

The Golden Fleece, Nottingham

i didn't know steve and i'm not a friend of any of the patrons of this pub but i think that it's ideals are in the right place but implemented poorly they need a stronger and more structured team with simalir ideas

The Grove Tavern, Surbiton

Having left this pub half an hour ago, I have to say that it is probably the worst food I have ever experienced in 18 years of working in pubs. The service wasn't as bad as the food, the draught Peroni had a nasty metallic aftertaste. The risotto was, amazingly, a cheesy sauce to which a small amount of cooked rice had been added to. The steak, which my wife sent back, arrived well done having been ordered medium rare. The burger was 'middling to poor' and the thai prawn curry overpriced. All in all, shockingly poor. This place does not deserve to do well considering that there are many decent pubs serving good food in the area. If you are considering going there then don't. we went straight to sainsburys and got puds just could't bear to be there another second now you'll forgive me as i get stuck into a sticky toffee puds
cheers
