O'Neills, Redhill

Currently an O'Neills pub (its been a firkin & the wheatsheaf previously). Its a bit more expensive than the other pubs in town, which keeps away most the trouble makers. Not bad a a few drinks - average.

The Sun, Redhill

Large typical Wetherspoons pub, has all the usual selection of affordable beers & fairly good food. Ive been in this place more times than I care to mention, & despite all the talk of redhill "pikies", "chavs" etc I rarely see that much trouble. Good place to get hammered cheaply before a night out

The Home Cottage, Redhill

Old style pub (which also has a restaurant & conservatory attached), run by youngs brewery & has the usual array of Ales. As is usual for Youngs its not cheap, but the drinks are quality. Its a good place to go for a few quietish drinks with friends in a relaxed atmosphere, or to go for a meal (despite comments below, the food is very good).

The Garland, Redhill

If you want to escape the plastic/refurbished pubs of Redhill centre & go to a "proper" pub, then this is one of the best places you can head (its only a couple of mins form the centre, just after the bridge out of town). Traditional, quiet pub run by friendly local family, with an array of excellent Harveys Sussex ales. Reccomended

The Tower, Redhill

Good pub to watch football in, with big screen tvs. Recently been refurbished. Usualy selection of lagers available. On the whole its an alright pub, mainly locals, regulars & one to head for if you dont want to be surrounded by a majority of 18 year olds on a saturday night, or going for a drink with mates in the week.

The Abbot, Redhill

Seems the Abbot has been given a terrible write up by most on here, but theres a large element of snobbishness in that. If you want a quiet ye ole pub to sup on some ale your best off looking elsewhere. If you have an aversion to people who arnt afluent types then clear off to Reigate. If on a weekend you want to have a laugh & dance till late, then there is nothing wrong with the place. Occasional violence, but in this type of late pub with dance floor atmosphere & people drinking these things will happen. Also has plasma screen tvs & shows pretty much all football on sky tv, can be a good place to watch Engerlund play.

The Boleyn Tavern, Upton Park

Real old style East London pub run by a local family. Has pool tables, sky tv & very affordable drinks. As someone else mentioned, unless you support West Ham this should be given a very wide berth on match days - not only is it packed to the rafters (quite literally, with people standing on the pool tables chanting), but it can be an extremely rowdy/intimidating atmosphere.
