The Longbow, Stapleford

sound, traditional locals' pub. well kept beer.

The Baron of Beef, Cambridge

Good anonymous post there dec04, obviously unaffiliated with the pub.

Pretty dismal pub for the record.

The Mitre, Cambridge

Used to be excellent, dark-wood, old candles, atmospheric, one of the best in town - now trashed to be a faux edwardian pseudo-chain pub. A travesty, quite.

The Kings Head, Hadstock

really nice little pub. primarily serves locals, but friendly and very appealing.

The Royal Oak, Barrington

this pub has a wonderful setting in this unusually expansive village. very good for a pint outside on a sunny day. food is (straightforward but) very good.

The Druids, Cambridge

no beer when I last went. tried to resort to guiness. guiness was off. we had to leave. dreadful place anyway.

The Blue Ball Inn, Grantchester

not a food pub and the better for it, quite so. really nice little village pub, with well kept beer.

The King Street Run, Cambridge

very pithy, k'or. anyway, good pub, sort of a grimy, faded ex-theme-pub pub. couldn't be improved upon.

The Mill, Cambridge

(expensive) beer stall for the green. beer ok but can seem parsimoniously understaffed at busy times.

The Cross Keys, Cambridge

charming little badly decorated pub with idiosyncratic landlord. beer is fine despite earlier comments. there may be a portable TV on the bar being avidly watched and commented upon (from the serving side, that is) and you may feel like you've fallen into a chapter of porterhouse blue for a bit.

The Snug Bar, Cambridge

now a bar rather than a pub. with a particularly offputting name, and a nauseatingly welcoming hiya guys staff team.

The Live and Let Live, Cambridge

very busy pub and far too nice for you anyway. please go to the six bells instead.

The Flying Pig, Cambridge

the business. sound, dingy drinking pub, music posters all over the walls, candles on the tables (probably), even some real ales. They tried to demolish it but They lost.

The Bell Inn, Bottisham

nicely un-redeveloped GK locals' pub. nothing adventurous as far as beer is concerned, but friendly and unpretentious. nice dingy area around fire with beams and stuff as I recall. not tried food but likely to be basic.
