Marvellous pub. Terrific range of ales and whiskies. Has to be unique in not being turned into a gastro pub after being renovated. No chavs, no music, no food and no kids, a truly civilised way to enjoy an evening sampling their ales.

The Little Park Hatch, Cranleigh
Recommended. Had Sunday lunch here, food fine, beer excellent. Huge garden and amenities for the kids. Lady running the bar was very efficient and absolutely in control.

Terrific renovation. Some nice touches too like the firepit in the patio by the river. Much better value than the Black Swan - prices okay, food good and service excellent. It was always a prime location next to the river and just down from the RHS gardens. Hope they can maintain it as it shows just how lazy most other pubs are in the area.

Ye Olde Windsor Castle, Bookham
Tried it again as we'd been told it had changed hands. Menu still the same. Ignored when I tried to order food in a largely empty bar in favour of later arrivals. Left and won't be going back.

The Old House at Home, West Wittering
No complaints. The pub accomodated 4 of us plus 2 small dogs for lunch, and two of our party plus their dog for dinner. Food was especially good in the evening. The landlady was efficient rather than bossy with her staff and certainly not rude to us.
