Yes irs me went in on thursday 17th july and what a difference new managers have made, there was a happy atmosphere and spot on OBB.Cyril where are you, your write up was so very wrong after chatting to the abundance of customers all said it has got back to how it was when Bob and Sheila ran it [the last managers] a good locals pub.Everyone I spoke to said Andy and Sarah are a breath of fresh air compared to the reliefs who took off the great quiz night and Friday night raffles.Well done to Andy and Sarah

called in friday night ,had a pint of OBB it was spot on I didnt speak to the new managers but could see they were well liked.
This pub can now go back to being a success as it was when the last managers had it, not reliefs who really did,nt care and run the pub down. Each room had a buzz which has been missing for 10 months.CYRIL now go in and appreciate good managers. Try this pub cheap well kept beer in now a well kept pub[you got it right this time SAMS]

Nice one cyril read your amusing report if you know anything about pubs putting locals in is a step in the right direction when the pub is run down as it was. I have heard it is booming, will be popping in to find out for myself, remember I took back all I said about the reliefs, good look to them.

The Angel and White Horse, Tadcaster
Took notice of mikeupd report on the Angel,it is actually a nice pub his comments suggest he is really a very old man looking for a cheap pint of mild.A bit of entertainment would not go amiss

Second time i,ve been in here its no different from the last time, very quiet and apparently looking for a new manager. Was told Sam.s are sacking managers right left and centre.Advert in local paper wanting trainee area managers no experience in licence trade[weird].Obey are you are sacked it seems.Best of luck to you pub managers.Anyway had a nice pint off OBB.

It.s me again checking on what was a good pub, have to agree with everything Allofnetherton has to say in his preview althouth i.m not from the village he/she is obviously talking on behalf of the village.Called in one friday and yes it smells yes it was quiet and it does appear people are not going in due to the relief managers.Although they probably get no help from there area manager who I was told by a local leaves a lot to be desired,c,ant put down what he really said about him [too rude].Anyway come on Sam,s get this pub back to how it was.

Popped in on 10th May and the poor reliefs were still at it,the managers who were appointed in September 2007 are still waiting to move in? Tried a pint of cider which looked nice but tasted a bit flat. This pub was brilliant a year ago why not now? Should get the new managers in pronto and get it back to how it should be.The reliefs are ok but seem interested in running what was a good pub.

This is one of the nicest pubs i,ve been in Chris and Andy are great hosts. Good collection of beers with guest beers arriving shortly.Food is of exceptional quality and very reasonable.I had home made chicken and mushroom pie , it was delicious highly recommended.Got talking to Chris and he at one time was an area manager of none other than Sams Smiths,he would,nt discuss his time there at all? Anyway call in and see how a pub should be run, brilliant.

Called in to see if was still as bad,it was but it has its faithfull few in.The poor reliefs were at it again talked to Colin relief manager who was very pleasant he told me he was only in for a couple of weeks [been in 7 months].Apparentley Sams cannot afford to put the new managers in who are two local people. They have a pub in harrogate it appears Sams cannot afford to move them.Anyway had apint of obb hand pull and was a lot better than the last time i was in well done Colin.

The Horse and Jockey Inn, Ossett
Been in this pub a few times manager Julian is very welcoming but full of the older end looking for a cheap pint.Again it falls well short of a decent pub only because it is the usual dull sam smiths, but worth a visit.

Fabulous village pub infront a duck pond [thats the only entertainment one will get] had a nice sandwich
Its a pity its Sam Smiths a little background music would have been nice.A fabulous choice of two beers?
Manager stressed due to lack of staff, even though it was,nt busy he does nearly all the shifts.Things may change?

Called in to see if there was any improvement at 9.30 pm Saturday 15th march. There was only two people in the place? Tried a pint of OBB which was palatable but when is the owner going to think of his customers and give what they want. They are obviosly cutting back on all costs as it was the relief couple working again.Left at 10.15pm and in total the pub had seven customers, all senior citizens, the place had unpleasant smell to it.May call back later to see any improvements have been made.

Yes called in to a nice little SS pub still working with no entertainment for the customers cheap beer but customers now expect to be treated with some intelligence. Barnsley v Chelsea would have been great to watch with a cheap pint but no tv. The place was empty the guy who runs these pubs is on a different planet

Went in December was told how good the food was, we had meat and potato pie? should be potato pie we got no meat at all service was terrible but cant blame the barmaid she was on her own?Yes beer is cheap but customers suffer due to lack of staff and entertainment.Would have enjoyed watching the football but no television

This pub was agem 9months ago the manager Bob was a typical yorkshireman very friendly and welcoming. the hand pull Sam Smiths was spot on.Bob has left leaving some reliefs who havent a clue.Unfortunetly its Sams Smiths usual no choice of beers and whats all that about there own spirits. Who would pay 2.45 for ashot of unkown malt whisky or brandy.Until someone decent takes over keep out.

Have read russelsprouts addition i c,ant believe Julian has been forced out he was a good guy.Talked to customers and staff and the area manager has forced him out along with his artistic son. The area manager is a little man no more than 5ft high[am being genorous]i once saw him in Marquis of Granby in knaresboro when he was slaggihg of the managers, its time he got his cumuppence and let managers get on with what is a difficult job.It appears he is cutting all costs to the knucle while not helping managers improve trade.GET RID OF THE DWARF
