The barman apologised last night for the recent price increase, which now sees a good pint of Old Brewery Bitter at 1.52 in this pleasant multi-roomed GBG pub. There's a fire towards the back.

There isnt many pubs were you can sit and have a beer and watch the shire dray horses in there stables! But you can here. And they diliver to local Sam Smiths pubs . A good spot, we were made welcome, and the beer is good, especially the Old Brewery and the stout. Panelled walls and ajoining the brewery not many pubs do that! We went on a sunday pm and it was quite full, but got served quickly. Didnt have the food we not keen on it in Sam Smiths pubs. Well worth a visit + lots more S Smiths in the town. Recommended. Friendly locals.

With OBB at 1.43 a pint you cannot go wrong.

THe pub has a nice atmosphere and you have the view out to the brewery yard and the stables.

Just past the brewery offices is a delicatessan/off-sales with full range of Sam's bottled beers including the fruit beers from Melbourne's brewery in Stamford.

Called in here the other day when passing through Tadcaster. Coming from East Anglia this is the first time I've ever managed to find Samuel Smiths on draught, also its nice to see a town that isn't completely overrun by Greene King! This is a good pub for drinkers, the SS Old Brewery Bitter was superb, just wish they'd put some of their other beers on handpump rather than freezing cold smoothflow taps!! Food was definitely microwaved as it came too quickly to be anything else, and the mash potato looked / tasted suspiciosly like the instant variety... however the pub itself is very pleasant, elegant wood panelled interior and comfortable seats. A nice atmosphere to sit and drink / chat in.

The 3rd pub out of 3 that gives you the "Slaughtered Lamb" look when you walk through the door in Tadcaster......this one has enough internal characterisics though to ignore the North Yorky mob.....Good Pint
