I visited this pub with my husband two weeks ago for lunch and it was great! We enjoyed a drink in the bar first and then went through to the pretty dining area. I chose mussels in a garlic and wine sauce to start and they were sublime! The sauce was delicious. Hubby had whitebait which he said were very good - and plentiful.
For the main course we chose steak and kidney pudding (hubby) and pork in a mustard sauce. Both dishes were served with new potatoes and vegetables. We were too full for dessert.
Staff were friendly, atmosphere was welcoming and we will certainly be going back!

A New Year's Eve lunch turned into a real treat after we ventured into the Green Man at Lavendon. It's a lovely pub - full of low beams, log fires and comfortable chairs. The menu had some great choices, all reasonably priced and a good wine selection. My husband was pleased with his Abbot Ale. Our children chose from the main menu and enjoyed the home-made steak pie which came with lots of vegetables and mashed potatoes. Hubby's fish was excellent and my tasty meatballs very filling. We'll definitely be back for more!

The Royal Oak, Walgrave
The Royal Oak is our local and we visit frequently. Our favourite nights are Monday or Tuesday when they do two main courses for the price of one. Understandably it can get very busy so booking is advisable. The specials menu changes frequently, but our favourites are the large cod, steaks, mixed grill and gammon.
There is a lovely garden area for the children and seating outside the pub at the front lets you watch village life wander by!
