| Always great pub food - home-cooked, good value and good helpings. Includes a good fixed price menu during weekday lunchtimes. Just shows though that one visit can give a false impression. | The Royal Oak is our local and we visit frequently. Our favourite nights are Monday or Tuesday when they do two main courses for the price of one. Understandably it can get very busy so booking is advisable. The specials menu changes frequently, but our favourites are the large cod, steaks, mixed grill and gammon.
