Old Black Lion is a 4* small in. Bedrooms up top, walk in the front door and turn right to the bar. Food led pub, small bar for serving at, not for standing at and drinking. Lots of tables, with a restaurant as well. Restaurant quality food served throughout. Old Black Lion (Butty Bach) and Rev James on tap, both in good nick.

Now closed again. Apparently been sold with a view to turn into a block of flats. Shame

Nice pub, serves S.A. and Wye Valleys Golden Ale, with a 3rd on weekends/summer. Sparklers on as standard. Through the front door, bar directly infront. Tiber lined roof. Mixed tables, with quoits and darts to the left, by the fire. To the right, up a step, to the side of the bar is a smaller room, with a little bar that feeds off the main. Carry on through and the third room 'behind' the bar has views over the river, and tables set in a more meeting room/restaurant style. Wireless internet available, couple of rooms for BnB upstairs, live music roughly once a month. Pub food served at pub prices, worth stopping in on the way to/from Brecon.

The Hoste Arms, Burnham Market
This makes no apologies for being a hotel bar and not a pub. Deep dark wood everywhere, and a couple of tables with window seat. Abbot Ale, Woodfordes Wherry and Nelson's Revenge on tap, 3.05 a pint. Service with a smile, a bar for those that like the finer things in life. Little offish if you prefer a friendly pub, but for a quiet drink (I was in around 10.15 on a Wednesday) reading the paper you could do worse. 6/10

The Lord Nelson, Burnham Market
Stayed here for a couple of nights, nice pub. Clean and tidy bar, had the usual lagers, Guinness and Aspall cider. GK IPA (2.80) and Woodfordes Wherry (3) in good nick, with a third handpump empty. 2 bars, the Trainers bar more lounge/foody, whilst the front bar is more pub like, with a large screen (wasn't on). Quiz, Poker, Bingo nights in this bar as well. Lively pub, food well priced, well presented and affordable. Customer service top notch. Working to find a balance between a relaxed friendly local and attracting the well-healed people who come to this part of the world. 7/10

I cannot recommend this pub enough. 12 handpumps, with a further 20 ales on gravity. 16 other taps provide peach beer, cherry beer, summer fruits beer...
A previous poster mentioned a smell of bleach - there was the faintest whiff of it when we went in, but in a 'freshly cleaned' way. Handpumps were gleaming (as was the copper pipes in the gents!) Staff were very friendly and professional - offering tasters of anything. I tried around 10 ales throughout the afternoon, all in very good nick. Containers for take-aways (2pint milk cartons and larger plastic jugs), no music, friendly locals, beers ranging from 2 a pint to 2.80 (although I think I saw one at 1.60 a half). Grapefruit ale was interesting as well. O, and a taxi to the bus station is just over 5. Full marks

Now re-opened - had closed down for a deep clean. New tenants run a couple of Enterprise pubs. Rev James on handpull when I walked past last.

Went in tonight, by sounds of it previous tenants (Enterprise own it) had run it to the ground by some reports. Had a couple in, no ale tonight but Butty on tomorrow. Pool table, real fire, one bar serves two rooms. Nice enough, starting from nothing can only get better :D
4/10 - basics right considering it's only just started getting customers in

Popped in last night for the first time - amazed! Lovely pub, had five ales on, all Spinning Dogg (I tried to Owd Bull - good beer). Skittle Alley, Quoits, Darts and pool all in place, also real log fire. Barmaid didn't have a float which wasn't a problem as we had change. Prices around the 2/2.20 mark and personally I felt the pub had just as much character as down the road. Both great pubs and worth a visit. 7/10

Now an Enterprise Inn pub, changing tenant/owner every couple of months. Beer ok every now and then, but on the whole not worth trying. Pool table and jukebox, pub grub at cheap prices, and well-heated smoking area round back. Mainly full of 18-21yo lager drinkers at weekends, not a problem but not a place for a quiet pint if that's what your after!

Popped in tonight. CAMRA winner from 2003 (I think, certainly 03 or 04)
Had 4 choices of Breconshire Brewery ales on, the two I tried were spot on. The bar is a wooden floor, traditional table/chair style in the front bar, with the back bar having a bit more character. Lovely pub, would like to see it at the weekend when busy though, as on a quiet night tonight I was glad the tele was on showing the football.

Inside a lovely bar, but atmosphere 'clicky'. By this I mean staff seemed distant and not interested, and customers seemed hesitant to interupt staff conversations. Sat on the lawn, great kids area, but we were bemused that altough dogs and children are both allowed inside, dogs weren't allowed in the 'family room' and children weren't allowed in the bar (the only area dogs were...)
Food came quick, indeed the others we were with had their food at the table before they had returned from ordering! 2 lads served us our food (a plate each), and both returned when we asked for an extra plate (just one).
As driver perhaps I shouldn't comment but the others in my group all said the beer was good, with Adnams and Broadside on with 2 guest ales, Jennings Crag Rat and another that slips my mind.
If you block out the staff you'll find a decent enough experiance here.
5/10 - food cheap and cheerful (3663/brakes bros stuff) but good beer, good location and very family friendly

Ye Olde Coach and Horses Inn, Melton
Asked how it was and you said 'generally ok'...
Then your surprised when nothing was done about your complaint? Something fishy here.

Apologies for the late reply - as both of the previous posters have noted we have been extremely busy recently! Thank you both for your feedback.
Griffo59 - We now take all but 2 of the bar stools away at lunchtimes so that more people can get to the small bar. As mentioned, the recent upturn in trade was a pleasant surprise. I'm very sorry that your Golden Sheep was that bad, we do take great pride in our ales and hence the recent awards for them. I must admit I'm surprised, as the other 67.5 pints we sold were fine. We happily replace any pint a customer isn't happy with - and at 3 a pint I'm surprised you didn't want it replacing - with 5 on there was plenty of choice. As for the Carling again I can only apologise - rest assured I line clean every Thursday morning without fail.
AleBob - We now have added to our staff so that every lunch there is a waitress, a bar staff and another member of staff who does both - I can only apologise for running out of food and the slow service, we've been pleasantly surprised with the sudden upturn in trade.
