Chain student pub, need i say more?
If you are are looking for a reasonably decorated pub, with ok bar staff, but dont mind awful, awful draft beer, and want to be surrounded by drunk 18 year olds then this place is for you. If however you want a decent pint and a traditional pub (which this place used to be when it was the pot or the firkin) then you will be disappointed.
try over the road at the sacks of potatoes if you are over 20 and/or want a real ale.
IMO the chain has ruined what used to be a decent real ale pub with a mico-brewery out the back. Also watch out for the constant piles of broken glass outside

Used to be a locals pub as ILooklikeme says, has been through many changes over the last few years.
This pub is now a rock bar. Customers are friendly, as are the staff however i have to say the draft beer is awful. Stick to bottles or shorts if you want a drink here, otherwise friendly and pleasant if you are looking for a rock bar.

Pretty good since the refurb, although can be a little 'clicky' at times. Otherwise good sport-showing local, the real ale is pretty well kept, the decor is pleasant, as are the employees and they have improved the beer garden out the back.
All in all quite pleasant, just be warned it gets very noisy and busy fri/sat evenings, so there is no such thing as a quiet pint in here at peak times.

The Prince of Wales, Wilnecote
Great local pub, as others have stated its a 'proper pub'.
Probably one of the best kept cellars i have ever had the privilege of drinking from, pleasant polite bar staff, friendly locals, great real ales, whiskys etc.
Having moved away from the area for a while and then returned, i didnt realise how much i missed the place, the only reason it doesnt get a 10 is that the opening times can be somewhat strange at times during the day.
Always worth a pint
highly recommended

The Blacksmiths Arms, Wilnecote
I can think of only one other pub i have ever been to that is worse. I cannot think of a single good thing to say about it other than its better than standing outside with the kids hanging around outside the shops.

The Queens Head, Birmingham
I agree with vamoosh entirely, i couldnt believe my eyes when i popped in after finding out it was open again, utterly awful, and more expensive than most of the town centre!
