The Bell, Horndon-on-the-Hill

I had a lovel meal here with great service. The pub was very busy but the food was quick and fresh - I'd certainly come back!!

The Halfway Inn, Dunwear

Yoyo - please don't insinuate that because i only have one review that it is 'suspicious'. Everyone has to have a first review at some point and as it happens i don't visit an array of great pubs on a regular basis. Most are rather mediocre and not worth a mention - added to which i don't have the time or inclination to consider myself an expert on the local area as you clearly do.

I reviewed because i enjoyed myself and i will review again when i find another pub which i feel worth telling others about.

Please also note that I have not posted another rating with this comment as i didn't want to be accused of 'fixing' the score!

The Halfway Inn, Dunwear

I happened across this pub last weekend - it's a treasure that ought not be a secret!! Fabulous carvery on the Sunday although as i didn't book i had to wait a while as it was so busy. The service was great, especially considering most of the staff were new apparently. The meal, pudding and coffee were all incredibly fresh and i have no complaint except that myself and my husband could barely fit back into the car afterwards! 10/10!!
