Everything a pub should be. Great beer, excellent food and steeped in history. twineyboy - 3 Nov 2012 19:49 |
You wont find a better pint of Bass anywhere else! Laggers - 5 Jun 2011 06:27 |
Excellent! I was expecting to be underwhelmed because I'd heard so many glowing reports but they were justified. Very comfortable, good staff and the food and drinks were very well kept and tasty. Not cheap but good value considering the quality! TEL3 - 9 Sep 2010 23:06 |
I had a lovel meal here with great service. The pub was very busy but the food was quick and fresh - I'd certainly come back!! Debbie debbie72 - 17 Nov 2008 15:15 |
Unfortunately, customer service was pretty much non-existent - unless you were from the village. They all made it clear that we (a group of four classical musicians who were performing that evening in the village church) were not welcome. It was obvious that bar staff and patrons were not happy about having 'strangers' in the town. Being black, I actually had entire families (not just the kids) staring at me. Interesting reaction, considering two of the bar staff were Polish. On the other hand, The meal I had was the best food that I have tasted in a very long time and the drinks were at proper village prices ie about half of London prices. Just make sure you've got a mate in the village before you arrive! Chensta - 9 Nov 2008 17:36 |
