The Fire Stables, Wimbledon Village
This is a very pleasant Gastro Pub. I would not class it as a terriffic drinking hole though, far to busy being a resturant. I would say that the both the food and the service were excellent, I started with char grilled squid and it was stunning, in a melt in your mouth way that i did not think possible. I followed it with the Roast Beef (it was a Sunday after all) which was nothing special apart from the vast amount of lovely medium rare beef that you were served. And the pudding was almost as good as the starter, I really nice moist, good sized portion of sticky toffee pudding and ice cream.
but...
Iwas incredibly noise in there, you really had to shout to make yourself heard, which of course just increase the noise level, I blame dodgey accoustics. Also it was pretty expensive.
So all in all good a gastro pub, worth a visit about once or twice a year. oh and beer wise only had the Carlsberg was was nice a lively, but it is only Carlsberg, so if you want proper booze head to a proper pub.

A very pretty pub, supposedly the most photo'd pub in the country. But Inside is decidely average, the beer is a bit poor, and judging by the dodgey uniforms is part of some chain. The whole order food seperatley is as stated below a bit old hat. and the Crab sandwich was a bit poor. It is nice to sit in the beer garden when the sun is shinning but for decent food and a better pint and more atmosphere there is a great pub across the road, go there instead.

Really good beer, a good range. The Guiness is excellent, they'll take their time serving it, as it should be, and then deliver it to you (if it's not too busy) And the land lord is a true Gent, very welcoming. I've only been there on a week day lunches but it has always been good, they even have a little sun trap beer garden round the back. And the club sandwich is brilliant value for money and more importantly really tasty.

The Express Tavern, Kew Bridge
Best pint of Stella I've had. every time I go there the beer is always excellent, good and livley, never flat, always ice cold. But it is a bit werid and and the landlord is a bit unwelcoming to say the least. One last thing they do have a great selection of old school pub snacks such as cockels, pork scratchin, bombay mix, crisp and nuts but very bizarrly the are always served with a small plate.

Number 22 Alehouse and Canteen, Darlington
This is a cracking pub with excellent beer, I completely agree with darloexile that the white boar is truely excellent. Service is always good but the bar can get rammed on a friday night but even so still worth trying to squeeze in to a really delightful pub.

After a bit of a trek to find this pub, it is tucked a short way away from clapham common. I was very pleasantly surprised by what I found. A really interesting looking pub, that had spilled out on to the street from its invitingly open, split level frontage. The beer was good and so was the rose wine. Service at the bar was top notch, but the food service less so. The Food was very nice, but a little pricey. I will be going again.

A really nice chain pub. Good range of beers, well poured and deffinatly not flat. Good service from friendly french staff, who do table service as well. I know that it is a chain boozer, but it is a good boozer.

This place is strange. I want to like it but for some strange reason I can't. It has vastly improved since the refurb took place several months ago. The beer is good, it shows some sport, and is nice and comfy and light. The service isn't bad either...but still there is something wrong with this pub.

The Crabtree, Hammersmith
A very borderline boozer. A great space, nice sized bar. Good location by the river. Does food, that as some one mentioned ealier is borderline school dinners. But they do do greater platters of grub that soak up plenty of booze. The beer is good. Staff are borderline sometimes smiley and helpful, sometimes having faces like slapped arses and being as useful as a square wheel. (having to point out to staff were to find the drinks you need, when the can eventually be bothered to serve you.)
But as I don't live to near it I don't go that often. So in conclusion a resounding not bad.
