Pub looks attractive from the outside and has a safe garden to the front on a quiet village road, laid out with tables. Inside it is a little lacking in character even bland as it has been madeover to the usual standard pub designer interior. I would like to see a few more original artifacts displayed in this historic village pub. I felt the food menu wasn't very adventurous, the usual ham, egg and chips, some pastas, sausages, steak & ale pie with short pastry and too much carrot, come on, it should be puff pastry. I'd like to see rabbit pie or phesant on the menu, that would impress. Limited space to sit down and just drink inside as you feel that you are expected to eat. I had read this was a microbrewery, but doesn't seem to be in operation anymore. Ales were O.K. I have had better, probably not cold enough for me. I might go there again if I was in the area, but would depend what beer was on pump.

Bit pricey for small portions. Food nicely presented. Friendly attentive staff, but thats not worth going back for. Beer Ok. Had better. Geared more towards parties and events and serious wine drinkers.

Not impressed by worn out decor, and generally tired interior. Not a place for a special date. Definately a blokes pub. Food is pubby and beer not worth writing home about.

The Hole in the Wall, Cambridge
It's a gastro pub with strong French influence. Dissapointing portions, very small.
Ham Terrein was fatty. Was told fish cakes was the special. I think he meant they was a starter as they were extremely small for a main course. Other delights on the menue included 'chicken leg' yes, thats right a chicken leg as a main course., not exactly hearty pub fair. Ambiance was very nice, just awfully snobby really, no local characters.
