Much better crowd than a year ago, scumbag corner has gone! You can enjoy your pint in peace without fear of some redneck trying to sell you stolen jewellry or starting a fight!
Ale is good when it is available.
SORT THE TOILETS OUT! Possibly the worst in Manchester, on par with those in trainspotting!
Good quality cheap drinks though, worth a visit especially on a match day.

Great pub! great beer and good staff. Again very much let down by that awful video juke box!
Sunday afternoon filled with old dears trying to enjoy their roasts while Ultrabeat is playing full volume on repeat in the background!
Refurb has killed any character, not quite a pub... not quite a wine bar! So much potential but still a good gaff to drink in.

Not a bad drinking hole could be better though! Wonderful friendly staff and very clean, comfortable outside area with nice surroundings.
Let down by high prices and consistently running out of draft products! Seems to be a fault on the parent companies side, another victory for Enterprise Inns!

As Sebo said in a previous post... what is going on with those bouncers? Bullying thugs on power trips, I witnessed the fat one basically assault a lad half his size and age after an argument ensued because the bouncer threw his drink on the floor because he was wearing a hat...!!???
Amazed to discover the fat bouncer is actually the manager and similar things happen a lot.... if you dont have people skills and act like that why are you running a pub! Join the BNP and be at home!

The Old Wellington Inn, Manchester
Good pub with excellent cask ale, have visited many times now the selection of guest ales varies but is generally of good quality. Food is good value but seems to be of slightly higher standard for just 'pub grub'.
As mentioned previously the pub retains its original character to an extent but with an over whelming amount of advertising and standardised products it does have a somewhat 'chainy' feel to it.
Service has always been excellent and staff very knowledgable on products and the history of the building... oldest building in Manchester apparently!
A must visit on a Manchester pub crawl night, shares a garden with Sam Smiths so good outside area.

first time Ive visited here since they had the paint job, looks very smart inside, great drink prices, had a few ales from the new selection and stuck around to watch an hour of the singer on a friday night, had a fantastic time! well worth a visit when on the rounds in Bury, a lot more unique than JDW next door
