This pub keeps its beer very well. However, I got the impression it may be more orientated towards food. The day I came in the door to what seemed like the main bar area was locked and had larger speakers stored in the room, so we had to drink in the restaurant bit. The ale was magnificent though, especially the Blackcurrant porter from Vale of Glamorgan Brewery. The manager was also also friendly and genuinely seemed to want to know if we were doing alright. It's a bit pricey but nothing to feel wronged about, it also does a happy hour on Fridays. Wezzielad - 1 Dec 2016 02:18 |
Busy, young crowd with sky sports in every corner. Pleasant welcome and an offer to try the beers, BUT all the beers Bar one were pale and citrus. The one that was not was a porter.. What a shame, absolutely certain that they could shift one or two traditional bitters. Still, a good pub to visit. TonyMitch - 20 Apr 2016 22:14 |
Yet another decent pub, my first visit made this Saturday evening. 6 pumps offering real ale, with a handy chalk board listing the available options. The bar area was quite busy so was useful to be able to suss out the chalk board and see what was available. We went for a pint of Lost Lobos Porter at £3.30 and had no issue finding a seat. Although fairly busy the pub is definitely large enough to cope. Another one tried, and I would be happy to return. RealAleRobUK - 21 Mar 2016 20:35 |
Cosy pub with friendly welcome and a wide selection of real ales from smaller independent brewers. Well worth a visit - or add to an extended crawl around Salford's Chapel Street. 8/10 wobblybob - 30 Jul 2014 13:21 |
lovely pub, goes a long way to dispel the fuddy-duddy folk singer image of real ale fans, young(ish) crowd, very well kept beer and a friendly knowledgable staff who genuinely like what they do... kippo - 20 Sep 2013 09:21 |
