Good reliable beer but as has been said - an uninspiring selection

This pub used to have a great atmos but has gone downhill in the last couple of years - cider not great and no choice of real ale to compensate - lives on it's reputation - a very dangerous thing to do as the punters pack off and go elsewhere

Used to come here many years ago when the place was full of character. Now very dull, very average beer and probably won;t be returning.

Went in recently and they were having a Welsh theme with the ales. The only problem was the beers were not in best fettle (not bad enough to take back, just not great either) - the only one in really good condition was brassknocker.

the barbus barbus is a bloody gorgeous pint, but really , this place IS too expensive. i had a pint of cotleigh buzzard in the wspoon for 99p and this place charges over 3-3.30 per pint

amazing for ale drinkers - never heard of some of the breweries, and every pint we had was in fine fettle. yes, I recommend this place

As someone else said on here - although nice place for a pint , they risk alienating customers by reserving tables for eaters. is it pub, restaurant, gastropub or what? shame really as me and the mrs had to stand at the bar drinking while empty tables stayed empty apart from reserved signs, spoiled our evening a bit actually

Been in a few times now and beer is good but thought the LL / bar bloke a bit patronising, what with nearly telling me what to drink and how knowledgeable he is about real ale. Yes, I've neen a CAMRA member for a few years n all. There is a good choice though and never had a bad pint (a bit pricey)
