Avoid this place like the plague. It is dirty, the bar staff walk off and you are left waiting to be served...we waited almost 10 mins. The glasses were dirty. Whatever you do do not try the food, we did and it was absolutley awful. The roast chicken was not fresh, it was pressed chicken, we could not eat the meal. There was a table of 5 next to us who got up and left as the food was so bad. The complained to the management but to no avail. Very Bad

We visited yesterday (27/02/05), we found the manager very polite as were most of the staff apart from the Irish girl who was only polite and smiled at Irish people!! Somebody smashed a glass on the floor and she was quite rude to me when i pointed it out. The food is not good at all, it was cold by the time it reached our table. The roast beef was burnt round the edges but very red in the middle and the veg was just waterlogged and very bland.

The Crystal Palace Tavern, East Dulwich
This pub has not been the same since Brian left. The front bar has been very nicely refurbished and the beer is good. But the back is in a terrible state, you have to laugh there is a sign outside saying no work boots or dirty overalls, yet if you went in the back you would come out dirtier than when you went in. Such a shame as it could be a good pub.

The Uplands Bar and Brasserie, East Dulwich
The food is really awful and over priced. It was very bland and tastless, i think i remember my school dinners being tastier than that!! We were also grossly overcharged for drinks, which we brought to the manageress's attention, but all she could do was apologise, there was no offer of a refund. We would not visit again which is a shame as it is our local!!

The Black Cherry Bar, East Dulwich
The Black Cherry is absolutley Fab. We have passed a few times and finally went in yesterday. The food is great and very reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly and make you very welcome. It is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. They sell some great cocktails, you must try the Grand Royal.......it's delicious. I highly recommend it, give it a try you won't be disappointed, we will definatley be going back.
