such a shame that this isnt done up better....this could be a gold mine, but instead this is stuck serving deep fat fried food by a miserable landlord. rubbish music, but friendly locals and lovely garden for kids

The Queen's Head, Nutfield

I booked in with this pub a week before Christmas with 9 friends. As they were busy we were seated in the bar area....which i found really well decorated and warm. the waitress was soo friendly...however that was the only good thing about our visit. There was no rose wine and we had to wait for over an hour to get our starters. My friend ordered carpaccio, which came out frozen from the kitchen and when this was sent back the chef informed us that "thats how its served" and refused to change it. My husbands steak came without its side orders and the rest of the food was not worth the money. I cannot stress how nice the waiting staff were...they were apologetic and pleasant and obviously rushed off their feet. However, the landlord was rude and shouted at them instead of helping out....i have seen him be rude previously but thought he was having an off day...clearly not. I would never eat here again. Such a shame as its the nearest nice pub!!! Go into Bletchingly or Godstone for a nice meal....just drive past this one: youll not be missing anything!

Whyte Harte Hotel, Bletchingley

I have eaten here once before but only had a sandwich and chips there but ate here with my husband on a busy Sunday recently. There was a warm welcome, a lovely fire and we were seated immediately. The staff were friendly and efficient and the food was wonderful. ..the portion size was fantastic and i look forward to coming going back soon!! i really enjoyed eating in such a lovely looking pub and look forward to going back.
