Best pub in aldershot by a long way.
Im not sure what the other posters are on about but tis always been relatively spotless when ive been there.
Excellent quiz on wednesday nights.
The only complaint would be (and its a big one), no real ale! Not even a bottled one. So unless you want larger your stuck with john smiths of guiness.

Its dark, its dirty, its full of nooks and crannys, its got an eclectic mix of ciliental, its everything a pub should be!
Good selection of ales. Ive had the odd duff pint there though.
Best (and by far the most interesting) pub in the town centre.

Used to be a good little pub. Now a horrible bland expensive bar. Avoid.

Bog standard boozer with a massive beer garden. Not normally got any interesting ales on.

I think its been taken over again recently and has gone downhill since then. We tried to book a xmas meal here, but kept being fobbed off and not phoned back so gave up in the end.
Looks like they have given up on the food side of things now and the clientale seems to have got quite a lot rougher.
A shame as this time last year it was looking good.

Used to be good, but went there recentlty and was pretty bad.
Place is pretty knackered looking. Slightly uncomfortable atmosphere. Small selection of ales, but not very well kept.
Heated smoking area is reasonable.
Only stayed for 1 pint and was glad to get out of there.

The Shepherd and Flock, Farnham
Excellent pub.
Nearly always a fantastic selection of well kept real ales. (occasionally go in and 4 of the 7 pumps are off, but very rare).
Current house beers are TEA, old peculiar and Altons pride, with 4 guest ales.
Friendly staff, and excellent beer gardens at font and back, with a nice heated smoking area. Food is top class too.
Only (minor) complaint would be the toilet cubicle in the gents is very very small. You have to pretty much climb on the toilet to be able to shut the door!

The Black Horse Inn, Hulland Ward
Went here for a meal at lunchtime on a saturday. Place was pleasant enough, nice oak beams, etc, but a bit tired. Staff were generally friendly and welcoming.
3 real ales on, but nothing special. Pint of special hen was fine.
Food however was pretty dire. I had fisherman's platter, which was huge, but the a very poor selection of fish, all pretty poor quality. Cod, place and salmon i believe. Where were the calamari rings? Where was the scampi. It was all cooked adequately, but then its not that hard to deep fat fry some frozen/fish.
My wifes meal however was almost comedically bad. She went for the 'special' of duck in a sweet chilli sauce' This was essentially a super noodle dolloped on a plate, with a duck breast on top, covered with sweet chilli sauce out of a bottle, and nothing else. No veg whatsover. It looked and tasted awful.
It was all very cheap though, but i can see why....
