the landlady of this pub and her partner are 2 of the nicest people you will ever meet and they have also made this pub like a special little home , the shelves are packed with items like chocolate and stuff u wouldnt usually find in a pub..also there are televisions and a pool table...free wi-fi and u can even charge up your mobility scooter for a small charge....the food is excellent too....i cant praise this pub enough and the landlady and landlord have brilliant personalities and they will try to help you whenever they can

The Fleur De Lys, Norton St Philip
we went here this sunday only to be told at 2.15 by landlord that he stopped doing any food cus hardly anyone had ordered any and he was really sarcastic about the way he told us too....i mean he had only stopped serving it 5 minutes earlier for gods sake and yet he couldnt make an exception? what a poor attitude in so called hard times for the pub trade...obviously he must be raking it with his extra high prices for beer.

food was disappointing, also i was told by barman that we could order food in this bar but if we wanted drinks we would have to go a different bar even though there were beer pumps there! apparently they have so many different bars that they do food in some and beer in others!! work that one out lol

thought the male owner working behind the bar was particularly rude the way he treated a disabled man on sunday 28th april 2013,
he should take a look at how his waitresses behave as they are kind , courteous and polite....he was disgusting in his impatience.

visited on easter sunday 31march13
had recently been decorated..barman was welcoming , had draught cider and lovely meal of steak and kidney pie , chips and mushy peas.....he agreed to give me mushy peas instead of garden peas...also had a lovely treacle sponge with ice cream instead of the advertised cream ....often u get a small portioned pie dish but this was a big homemade scoop and steak and kidney was so so tasty...ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS....and then we sat outside with a few drinks as there is a nice suntrap just by the door....what a lovely sunday.

have they fixed the sign above the door yet (cross eys not cross keys)??
u can save money on th juke box by standing outside and listening to the booming music from the golden lion down the road on their live music nights :)) ....where are the council noise pollution specialists !!! how do people sleep in the flats above????

snobby people sitting in a cafe reminded me of sitting in the old school doctors surgery just up the road

The Old Post Office, Fishponds
bad food, awful snobby customers, dreadful choice of drinks , crap service but lovely exterior.

there are two ways to improve this place....on the left hand side when u walk in there are a large proportion of the bristol social security scroungers who call in at 9.am so say to get breakfast, which i guess includes pints of old rosie cider so get rid of them and make them do some voluntary work cleaning up the fag ends outside.......second way to improve the place is to ban all chavs then i could have a drink by myself.

whilst eating sunday lunch i asked if there was any apple sauce to go with the pork....to which a young kid who was disguised as the chef said..."what!! apple suce with pork!! you must be joking" he said that he was from poland...enough said; place looks nice outside though.

The Oldbury Court Inn, Fishponds
right in the middle of a rough council estate and its clientele reflect this....there was a definite fear of violence about the place and screams were heard in the locality on my way home...take your own protection.

i had visited this pub about 3 years ago and thought i would go back as previously the carvery was one of the best, we walked in and were met with a huge line of people queuing with lottery tickets lol...the lineup ranged from pensioners in wooly cardigans and chavs with hoods up and phones next to both ears...we should have walked right out but we made the mistake of staying...we got our plate full but then a chav with kids ran into us and hey presto it went on the floor...no food for me! absolute hell hole as they are catering for the hartcliffe hungry hordes who take a tumble over the hill for cheap food..i will never go back..it used to be such a nice place!

i enjoyed my roast when i visited recently, the potatoes could have been fully roasted though but they tasted nice and the gravy was excellent!..id have probably liked a little more but i guess most pubs portion their food with profit motives in mind, i popped in again recently and was rather disapppointed in the size of the cottage pie on offer...take note...YOUR FOOD MIGHT TASTE NICE BUT TRY GIVING YOUR CUSTOMERS MORE THAN A CHILDS PORTION thanks

visited for sunday lunch 23oct11, ordered lamb roast, potatoes were really just boiled with a slight roast on one side and still hard in middle..hadnt been turned over ; broccoli was raw and gravy tasteless..the one and half slices of lamb were ok but only a childs portion..i used to come here years ago when it used to do good food!
