Fantastic pub, best in Halesowen, which is praise indeed considering the Waggon and Horses is just down the road.
Good: Lovely garden, great atmosphere, friendly clientele and staff, large selection of ales all kept perfectly by Ray.
Not so good: Sometimes too warm or smokey, sometimes the beer selection is weighed too heavily to pale, hoppy beers - I'd appreciate some darker maltier ales sometimes.

Not bad at all. Has three rooms, and two bars as it has kept its old fashioned interior (albeit I think it is extended somewhat). The snug is great. Banks's pub so the real ale is OK but no guest ales.

Best pub in Harborne by a mile. Good selection of real ale (although sometimes a bit samey), can be hard to get a place to sit especially if there's any kind of sporting event. The back room, as someone said, is certainly the place to be.

Not bad as cavernous chain pubs go. Eclectic mix of clientele, and a few decent real ales. Can get a bit packed, and the bouncers get on your nerves telling you to move on at 11.01

Definately the best pub in Brum, and probably the best pub I've ever been to. Great beers, huge selection. Friendly staff and good mix of clientele.

The Waggon and Horses, Halesowen
Beautiful Victorian bar, with a great selection of ales. Won the 2006 CAMRA pub of year for the whole West Midlands, so beating every pub in Birmingham, Coventry, Solihull and the Black Country. The only downside is that it is so small and cramped inside, so you tend to stay for just one or two rather than the whole evening and end up in the "Hawne Tavern" up the road which is less pretty inside, but much roomier.
Still, altogether a wonderful pub!
