this pub opens early and closes late to show sport. I watched the Calzaghe fight at 4 am and a few months later watched Ireland v New Zealand at 8am. shows the football, rugby, taekwondo, whatever you want.
Bonfires, dancing, quizzes, attractive bar staff of both sexes (I like the one who wears the cordorouy dress) and decent pub food- tup burger, hello.
Bavarian Night? Yes please!

Cracking place. The new(ish) owner, Vince, made it his personal mission to get to know me and my girlfriend, as we are local and he knew we'd come back- and we did. The pizza is excellent, the cocktails are strong and the quotes in the gents toilets are funny.
recommend a calzone and a pint.

Best beer garden in the world, probably.
I havent been in a while because I always find the bar staff are more interested in chatting amongst themselves and to their friends than serving beers.
Used to get Cafferys in there, fair play.
It's good that they get comedians in there, pretty well known ones at that, but to be honest, i'd rather go to the tup.

I had a few beers in here a few times- thought "brillant- a small pub with a local atmosphere". I got that the first few times I went in. I even had a load of sandwiches in there once that I dont think were even on a menu.
I stopped going after I went to watch the chelsea arsenal game with a gooner. Silly mistake really. There was no trouble or anything, just a vibe that we shouldnt really be there. Which I guess is fair enough.
I dont know if I'd go back, because I dont live that close and there are other pubs I prefer that are closer. But I'd never tell anyone not to try it.
For being a proper local boozer though, 7 on 10

Walking home from a night in the ramble, my mate and I were heading our separate ways by the tube- "one more?" go on then, lets pop into the wetherspoons.
Shit.
I had literally sat down with my pint and a guy asked me if i had a problem with him. I informed him that i'd never laid eyes on him in my life. he asked why I'd knocked into him then. I responded that I didnt think I had.
Lovely stuff.
What a shithole

The Tooting Tram & Social, Tooting
Good place this. Used to be horrible, now ots got cool decor, stays open late and isnt as arsey as it potentially could be. if tooting had a media set, they'd probably come here. A big telly as well for when the lady has a birthday on a wednesday night- that happened to me. They kept the sound down on the telly, but the picture was perfect.
Cracking.

Selkirks a hard one to call- it's nice. And, er, thats about it. Sunday afternoons, yummy mummy set in the garden with push chairs and husbands in three quarter length trousers. Overpriced roasts with a "carve yourself" gimmick.
Beer is nice, but spendy, quiz is good.
I think the Selkirk knows it's one of a few places in tooting broadway that will attract the young professionals who cant afford to live in balham and everyone is being screwed over as such. I suggest those who like it try the new tramshed and social next to the McDonalds in tooting- similar set of people, but nicely decked out and not content to be the Tooting Estate Agents choice. 7 on 10.

not a nice pub. was drunk and sang karaoke in there once, silly behaviour.
Was my local in feet and inches, but if you want a pint in that area, drink in the Ramble.

The Green Man and French Horn, Covent Garden
Used to frequent it. A decent pub, used to get verrrry smoky back in the day. It shows football on regular tellies in the corner and sometimes there are seats out the front, which is nice place to watch the world go by.
The urinals are interesting and the beer is good. 6 on 10

Had a hell of a day in there one sunday. FA cup football from noon, all the way through to Spanish League until 10.30. Brilliant. Loads of pints, decent grub, staff were up for banter. I'm sure there are a few wallies in there at times, but there are idiots everywhere. People seemed sound enough to me though. a pub.

It's a nice pub. i've ensconced myself in there a few times. The only time it was a bit too Welsh was when I was looking at the menu. Then I turned the menu over and read it english, problem solved. The Guinness is nice, and they serve Castlemaine, which is a nice change from fosters/carling. Watch the sport in there, lovely stuff. ANy Liverpool fans? go there when they're on telly and look for Sion, Alex, Bale etc. They'll be pleased to see you.

The Manor Bar & Grill, Tooting
Decent place. Has always been fairly quiet when I've been in. The Guinness is ok, usually places like that have bad Guinness. one time a woman threw up outside and one of the staff poured boiling water on it. the steam mixed with the puke smell and activated it, so we sat inside. The staff I found to be friendly and not afraid to tell people to eff off out of it if they'd had too much. One of the better pubs in the area.

My "local" for want of a better word, and easily one of the best pubs I've been in in London. Their Guinness is brilliant, always expertly poured which is massively important. Sample the atmosphere during for rugby matches (particularly 6 nations) and the big racing festivals (Cheltenham week is brilliant). Great staff- regulars needn't even bother ordering, the staff will know. Friendly, trouble free pub, and fairly priced too. A gem.

The Royal Standard, Colliers Wood
I've heard things, bad things, but whenever I've been in there I've always managed a fairly chilled out couple of beers.
