The nicest pub in Epsom town centre. Well kept beer, friendly and efficient staff, pleasant decor, very clean and no Pikeys! A nice place to go with friends or to just sit and read the paper.

The Edmund Tylney, Leatherhead
If it wasn't for the cheap beer and town centre location, I would never go here. Usual Wetherspoons quality of service i.e. abysmal. It is typical to wait a long time to be served, and for the staff to pay no attention to which customer is next. At times, the bar can have several people waiting to be served, while staff who are not behind the bar are replenishing the fridges or other duties, despite the growing number of customers waiting. You can spend an hour there without tables being cleaned, glasses collected, or ashtrays emptied.

Like all pubs in this chain the beer is very cheap. Also the decor is pleasant and the toilets are clean. Unfortunately, the service at the bar is abysmal. It is typical to wait a long time to be served, and for the staff to pay no attention to which customer is next. At times, the bar can have several people waiting to be served, while staff who are not behind the bar are standing by the food hatch talking, or replenishing the fridges or other duties, despite the growing number of customers waiting. You can spend an hour there without tables being cleaned, glasses collected, or ashtrays emptied. The high tables and stools in the center of the pub wobble, and are frequently stabilised with menus etc. I asked for a pint of Courage Best the other day and was told it was off; I said "why don't you turn the pump sign round so that customers will know?", to which the barman replied that he "was not allowed!". If there is a manager he or she must be very part-time.

The Assembly Rooms, Epsom
I popped in for about an hour yesterday afternoon. I was amazed to find that on this occasion there were bar staff eager to serve the customers!
Still rather poor on clearing away glasses and changing ashtrays though.
They still need to sort out that uneven floor which causes tables and stools to wobble.
The group of unpleasant drunken old men seem to have relocated to the Albion, but this still remains (at times) the Chav centre of Epsom, and a day centre for unemployed alcoholics.
