Formerly Symonds Wells and The Magpie before that and now called Acorn 3. The bar has been moved to the right and the lounge opened up. This has given the pub a more airy feel but has lost some of its character of the old pub. Seating is adequate and the food reasonably priced. There was only 1 real ale on the bar and was of poor quality. The pub, considering it was a bank holiday was very quiet when I was in there. Not a pub if you like your real ale boozers_knows - 14 Aug 2014 15:27 |
The Symonds Well reopened a couple of weeks ago and is now styled as Acorn 30, an urban bar and kitchen. The bar has been moved over to the right hand side and the pub has a clean and modern look. As far as real ale goes they are keeping Youngs Bitter as a regular and they have one guest beer. This is currently Caledonian 80/- and is under a "house beer" pump clip "Down the Well" to give a connection with the past. Opening hours are noon - 11pm Sun-Thurs and noon - 1am Fri and Sat (although I was told that they have a licence to midnight during the week if busy) GuideDogSaint - 19 Sep 2012 15:22 |
