An oasis in the North-west for those who want a decent ale rather than lager or guinness; it has become a regular for me when visiting the area. Prices very cheap. Clean modern decor but lacking in soul. Staff very helpful. Food decent enough and very reasonably priced too.

Agree with the previous comments, a decent busy but friendly pub serving 4 real ales and a selection of fruit wines as well as the usual stuff. Good pub food too which (as with the beer) is fairly, but not cheaply, priced. Very welcoming log fire in the lounge in winter, and benches to sit outside in the summer. My only negative would be that it can get rather smoky inside given the small rooms and number of people in there.

The Case is Altered, Five Ways
Cosy old pub with open fires, decent beers and not much else - just as a pub ought to be. Beers from Hook Norton as well as a regularly changing selection of guest ales. Frequented by a mix of locals, students (let out from Warwick Uni?) and CAMRA types. Oh and yes they do still have the Bar Billiards.

Wonderful pub, like stepping back in time to a Black Country pub from decades ago. Its a listed building, although easy to miss from the outside as it looks just like another terraced house in need of a fresh coat of paint. Beers are an excellent range of real ales from smaller local breweries and kept in top condition. Very reasonably priced too. Has got CAMRA awards for several years. I love the place.

The Turf Tavern, Bloxwich
This remains my favourite pub in the Midlands (possibly in the country). A good changing selection of beers, an unspoilt Victorian interior (grade II listed), a friendly relaxed atmosphere and no music to spoil the pleasant sound of people talking over a good pint.
Forget the fact that CAMRA have dropped it from the Good Beer Guide 2008 - they obviously don't know what they are doing (it is one of their "National Inventory" pubs worth saving but not even worth a mention in their guide for a visit???). This is a great pub.
