The Prince's Head, Richmond

Went in with family and two teenagers at 13:00, on the 28th Dec. Was informed that the kids would have to sit in the beer garden, along with the smokers. Told the barstaff that my kids did not smoke, were housetrained, and wanted only lemonade. Told to leave pub. Asked for duty manager: not available. Don't know if this was Fullers corporate policy that kids should be banished to outside in beer garden, but will not be going back to the 'Head. We walked around the corner to the Brittannia and were made to feel very welcome indeed, INSIDE the bar, kids happy with lemonade and crisps.

Awful pub, awful service, terrible management. I doubt whether it actually deserves the "Pub" epithet. It really is a pretentious hole with a beer tap.

I cannot recommend it. Go to the Duke of York around the corner, a much better way to spend a summers day.

This is truly a terrible watering hole. The only nice thing about it is the view, which is rather nice. You cannot buy a beer without payout out a lot of cash for a pretty bland meal. The reason given for this was given as "it is part of the licensing law" which is utter bunkam, just a way of getting rid of their left over/microwaved food. I really, really cannot recommend this at all. I gave it 1 star for the view, but 0 for the service given.
