Superb food and bier in a great location. Yes, you do have to follow the service procedure, but it is quick, friendly and efficient. A glass of Paulaner Helles washing down Currywurst mit Bratkartoffeln on the banks of the Thames = Excellent! wobblybob - 5 Jul 2013 23:32 |
Not sure about the other comments & food/beer licensing business, as we only came for drinks, but I loved this place. Sitting out on the deck near the river with a stein of german beer and a pretzel...perfect. Really friendly servers & lovely decor inside. Would love to come back for dinner sometime - all the tables seemed booked up well in advance! katrinket - 22 Apr 2013 15:12 |
Tightest and most restrictive license I think I've ever known. Geezer on the beer served me the wrong drinks. I told him and he scowled at me and studied my receipt (you pay for beer with food ... only one beer per main course ... and then take your receipt to the beer geezer!). Then he wordlessly poured me the right drinks without another word! Food was ok for a bit of novelty but overall disappointing. And the beers were just about the worst of Germany. Lovely location though! Psi - 15 Aug 2012 13:29 |
I like this place, it gets full of Germans at weekends so must be doing something right? Go when you are hungry and after you have eaten you can sit and drink German beer for as long as you want. Lovely on a Summersday. beershot - 4 Jan 2011 13:34 |
Horrendously overpriced. The food before beer rule is madness and would only work if the food was any good. If you want a proper 'Biergarten' then go to Germany. It's only good for parents of a certain age who like to park their buggies in between tables. dragostea83 - 17 Sep 2010 16:12 |
