Dear Bedfont,
I don't understand your comments.
We welcome all visitors and frequently enjoy conversations with people from all over the globe who come to enjoy the food and drink.
Locals?
I think there are less than 6 people who live within a 1000yards and drink every week in the pub. It is clearly a pub used by local workers and visitors to the area.
My comments relate to one erroneous comment made sometime ago. If I left people with anything but the impression that this is a happy, warm and welcoming pub with good food / drink then Ive miss communicated.

Dear ilovethegm.
I was asked by the land lady to correct the previously incorrect assumption that the staff put on the loud music. Didn't mean to "blow anyone out of the water" and as to single minded please read my message in relation to the one before it.

The eclectic music was mine. I find a mixture of Marilyn Manson, Slipknot and AC/DC relaxing. Im not alone in my taste either at this bar nor at the various other pubs I visit.
We found your choice of venue for a business meeting rather obtuse. If you need a quiet environment to have a staff meeting then book a hotel meeting room Mr Cheap Skate.
It was clear who put the music on the Juke box, as when you complained, all 18 stone of me was standing clearly in view, dressed in a Heavy Rock T-shirt and Black Jeans. Im sure that if you made you views know to me at the time we could have had a discussion on the subject of music. Im sure the result would have made an excellent script for a new episode of The Office.

Sorry I meant "Kids to feed the animals", not get fed to them!! And in any event it is probably best tehy don't feed them.

This is a superb venue for an evenings drinking with a few friends or a weekend with the family.
Great Family type atmosphere where you can enjoy a quite drink in the extensive gardens.
You can watch your kids play on the swings / slide or fed to animals in the local farmers field, whilst they are safely away from the traffic of the nearby A30.
Food is good quality and inexpensive, especially the new 2 for 1 deals.
Extensive range of Lagers with a few real ales available. Wine is a exceptional value.
Sorry no pool table.
Juke box for music inside the pub.
New Smoking Area is a class leading affair with outside heaters!!
The pub is having a new refit in October, so it will continue to go from strength to strength.

WellWhat can I say, lets start here.
Barbee, you clearly havent been to many urban pubs.
I like the locals and the fact that they look like they of from Deliverance is representative of the population in that area. In fact on a Saturday its more like a Marilyn Manson video!
The beer is average to good depending on your tipple and those carpets are lino near the bar carefully crafted to look like carpet near the edge of the room and under furniture.
I think Clueless Halfwit is the nicest thing anyone has said about Mark. For the record the bar manager is responsible for the beer stocks, so if they run out shout at Leon (the Emo with the baby beard).
The arrangement with the Pit (Londons premier Rock night) is that all patrons pay to attend the entertainment and that they are responsible for ALL the security that night. Therefore it must be empty to start withyes it makes sense now. On Fridays the arrangement is different hence you can stay in and avoid the 3 for the Polish night, but then you miss out of the free apple vodka voucher that comes with the entrance fee. If it wasnt for these two events the pub would have been closed down long ago as it would not be viable with just the regulars / locals.
Things change, people dont like change, so they have a moan on the internet. Right now Im off to find pictures of young ladies with no clothes on.Byeeeeeeeeeee

Now a super litttle pub with a great selection of locals. New Pool table, small friendly atmosphere, that can be nearly tripled in size when required.

What a night, simply the best night weve had in ages.
This is now the home of the legendry Pit night club, which used to be at the John Bull Chiswick and more recently the Black Horse Richmond.
The very best in nu-metal, goth, heavy metal and dark music.
If you like bottled larger, chicken in a basket, watching football on the pub screen or playing dominos in the pubyou are going hate it here.
If Kerrang had a pub..it would be this one.
Black is a great colour, but if you are wearing White, coming in, its a friendly club, but you will stand out a mile.
This venue is going to become a one of the best known music venues in West London, travel couldnt be any better, train, 24 hour buses and the tube with two CCTV covered public car parks, outside a Police station are less than 1 minute away. If I could I would marry this pub!

The Robert Peel, Kingston Upon Thames
BANDS: Will Haven
DATE: Wednesday 22nd March 2006
Began in the summer of 1997 with the release of El Diablo. Soon after the band began its long haul down the road with US and European tours with the Deftones, Tura Satana, Far and Limp Bizkit. After a full year of touring the band returned with there second effort WHVN in the summer of 1999. After getting great coverage in Kerrang and Alternative Press the band set out again on another long summer with tours with Soufly and Slipknot and a European tour with Fear Factory. Returning home found the band replacing there orignal drummer Wayne Morse with drummer Mitch Wheeler. After the short introduction Mitch entered the studio with Will Haven to release Carpe Diem. This time around the band was headlining tours in the US and the UK. Soon after the long touring cycle the band played there final show in January of 2002. Since the final show Will Haven have still been active with a release of there original EP and a DVD featuring live footage of the band on the road and the final live show. Since then the members of will haven have started new projects such as Ghostride, The Abominable Iron Sloth and Death Valley High. Also started there own label Distruktor Records. Just a little teaser for any fans reading this, NEW Will Haven material will surface very soon, be prepared =)

I find it incredible that the poorer comments about this pub are from anonymous posters!
I drive a top of the range sports car, flash wheels, lovely paint job and never in 10 years (thats over 1500+ visits with .45K cars and 15K bikes) have I ever had it vandalised by anyone! (tempting fate here!)
The police put a parking ticket on it once, but I did have two wheels on the pavement, parked on the corner. The venue is that popular that parking close can be difficult. Vandalised twice!! Youre being stalked mate.
Dear Anonymous poster, sorry you have a grievance with the Peel. Please pop in have a word with the landlord. You may find whatever your issues are they may be solved with direct communication. Chav kids intimidatingI think you should stay at home with a Winnie the Pooh book, the worlds a scary place!!! That should keep him inside for a few weeks or perhaps a local night club, just down the road, may be more to your liking with much more touchy feely people. Now if 10 people surrounded me in that place I would be frightened.

Great pub, good beer, food is excellent (Thai, very authentic), better than the school dinner type food normally served around this area.
Real fun pub with lots of activities in the evenings for the local/regular drinkers, live music, disco and quiz nights.
Gets a 9 out of 10 from me (would have got 10 if it could squeeze in a Pool table).

The Crown and Sceptre, Feltham
This is now my new regular drinking establishment; love it, Pool tables, good beer and genuinely nice management.
Drink is the best priced in the area, regulars are great, but I know most of them from where I used to drink.
British, friendly and above all fun pub that has not forgotten what a real good time is about.
Wide selection of real beer well kept.
Highly recommended, wish I had discovered it earlier, well worth the 15 minute walk.

Spra,
Were the "lights off" when you visited last?
The pub is run by a LANDLADY, you know, the lumpy jumper type, a girl, a filly, a female, a lady, not a man/bloke or Geezer.
Beer is on the whole very good, so I expect "the trouble" you experienced was the initial surprise that someone was complaining about the beer.
I better stop now before I say something that offends and given my track record that has probably already happened.
Stop moving my local####
Keep the Green Man in Hatton!
Bedfont has all the pubs it needs!

Not really sure what the H. G. Wells fan meant about the pub.
Its great, the beer is good and so is the food.
The friendly staff make this a great locals pub in the evening and during the day the quick service provides for the busy lunch time trade.
Its not plastic fantastic like the newer pubs in Staines and as for the other established pubs the North Star out shines them all (great pun).
This makes for Stainess best pub, now that the Hob Goblin under went metamorphosis from a funky spit and saw dust to a real ugly Wine Bar. I miss my Dogs Bollocks (thats a real ale by the way).
All the best
Paul

Before reading any of my comments please ensure that a sense of humour is present and that you practice smiling (Teeth showing, lips open with corners of mouth upward facing).
Now for the serious bit.
Alas I have fallen foul of the lady of the house and following an undefended trial by regulars, ***** presiding, I must recant
1. The beer in the Green Man is good.
<I thought I said this last time>
2. The Green Man does not serve short measures, if you are unhappy with your pint, talk to the member of staff who served you and they will do every thing they can to make good.
<I thought I said this last time>
3. The tax office have tens of thousands of rules, Jules does not.
<My sense of humour is misunderstood by all around me>
4. The pub clock is not fast.
<Honestly, its bang on. Note to self no more humour>
5. I like the pub and how Jules runs it.
<I thought I said this last time>
Yours truly

Resident of Hatton,
In the fair county of Middlesex, near the Town of Feltham, not far from East Bedfont, so I dont have to walk far to get to the pub.

Wowwhat a selection of comments.
Im a 40 something metal/goth/heavy rocker/Company directoretc.etc.
Respectable by day, despicable by night.
My honest comments are.
Seemed like a great crowd (mixture of young and 30-somthings) on the last three occasions Ive been in (all Nov 2007). Perhaps the crowd was clicky, but then arent all pubs with a younger (or for that matter older) crowd? Music was to my taste and suitably loud.
Lighting was too bright for a rock venue (may be Im old school). Door staff were friendly, especially since they didnt know any of us. Beer was disappointing, but Ive got high standards, especially regarding real ale. Given it was from the Wychwood Brewery I would have thought that they could have stocked wider range, perhaps in bottles if they cant keep the beer in the cellar. The problem with real ale is you have to know how to store, pour and handle the beer. If its poor no one drinks it, then it gets worse, then even less people drink it. I think thats what happened here.
The larger seemed to be going down very well, lets face it, thats what most people drink anyway.
This pub is definitely on my list of Kingston town centre pubs. Its alternative, its not a wine wantabe and not a single scarf in sight!
