Could be a lovely boozer if someone would spend some money on it!!! Needs alot of TLC believe me.
Despite this it has the best selection of Ales in the Richmond area - by a country mile! And the food is astoundingly good for the price that you pay in there. If you want somewhere to go in Richmond that has it all and the friendliest bar staff around it has to be here - the local competion is not much to talk about!
And seeing as its a managed house i very much doubt the person who wrote the comments below has ever seen the licensee!

Good food and a superb canal side location - plus some excellent ales on offer - the Deuchars IPA was great! Well worth a visit.

Friendly and well hidden but a little soleless. Nice garden despite passing trains. My beer was a little warm but not the only pub in Richmond with that problem. Go to get away from the crowds and i have heard the food is good.

Without doubt worth a visit - one of my favourites in Richmond. Its so small and cosy that you feel like your in someones living room - great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Just remember to take cash BUT go!!!

Fantastic range of very well kept cask ales - that you wouldn't see in many other places. Great atmosphere - had a superb night in there a couple of thursdays ago. Can very highly recommend it - especially if you like your ale!

Doesn't look like picture above anymore BUT i loved it - nicely done inside and to a quality finish and a lovely paved beer garden - well impressed. Could do with larger range of ales but probably not aimed at that market anyway. Went on a sunny thursday evening and had a great time in the garden - once we got a table! Get rid of the cash machine though! Oh and ignore person below complaining about 'another traditional london Boozer poncified'!!!

The Brewery Tap, Brentford
Love this pub! Granted I am biased but its hard to find a pub today with the mix of traditional pub atmosphere, fantastic music nights, great ales and excellent food. I found it and put my money where my mouth is!
You need to keep an eye on this pub over the next couple of months as it undergoes a refurb that will pep up its tired look but not head in the direction of every other pub being refurbed!
Pub 'friendliness' issues will be addressed - although the previous reviewers comments were not worded correctly in todays PC world!
Alot of small changes are coming but we aim to keep the same great atmosphere and hope to enhance it!
Hopefully see you soon!
