The Folly Winebar, Petersfield
Fabulous 'trendy wine bar' now so much back in vogue. I used to drink in there many years ago, and it was a pleasure to reaquaint myself with the place, and the chef (now owner!).
Vaulted ceilings ofset by good low lighting gives the place a fresh yet intimate feel.
Food is excellent, especially the Fajitta's, a signature dish.
The owner, Mary, is a very good host. Nothing is too much trouble and together with her efficient staff, makes the place hum.
I heard a rumour that the Chef is looking for his 1st Michelin star, so good things to come!

A gem of a pub in the back streets of Barnes. Well worth the trouble to find it. Eclectic without being pretentious.
A lovely fire greets you as warmly as the female manager, who ably runs both the bar and intimate restaurant.
I found the food delicious, even the most basic of burgers were cooked with flair and attention to the finished result.
Beer is well kept, and the organic wines are a delight. A Jagermeister 'machine' is in evidence and well used!
The intimate garden is well laid out and I could see many happy evenings in the summer there. A true find in amongst the abhorent 'gastro-pub' cliches that are formulaic and soul-less.

Square Brewery, Petersfield
great pub.
Good live music
Good beer.
It's a true small town pub, in a market that forgets these sort fo pubs are what we're looking for!
