This is a fantastic pub to sit and read the papers whilst sipping your coffee/hot choc/drink in. Nice and modern without being intimidating and the sort of place I am happy to take my mum to. Unfortunately menu is a bit too expensive for casual dining , more of a special occasion eatery for me, but nice to pop into when we go for a walk round the village footpaths. Shame it is the opposite end of the village to where we live - perhaps they will wave their magic wand over The George too!

Frankly I have alway been too scared to go in this pub. I understand it has had a change of ownership recently so maybe one day I pluck up the courage.....

What a shame, this could be such a great pub. Firstly get a decent Landlord/lady who actually talks to the customers and can build up some regulars. Secondly throw out those dining chairs with holes in the seating pads and recarpet the restaurant. Thirdly get rid of the formal chairs and tables in the NON restaurant bit and give us lots of cosy sofas. ALSO get the fire working (there's nothing like a roaring fire) and finally get rid of the black wood colour scheme. Its so drepressing. THEN WE MIGHT FINALLY HAVE A DECENT PUB AT OUR END OF THE VILLAGE instead of having to go down to the New Inn.

Massively improved pub. Just re-opened and what a change! Lovely redecoration job. Wooden floors, lots of mismatched furniture and scatter cushions for a homely effect. I particularly like the chunky candles on each table. We went on opening night and got free food and drink which was a bonus. Went back following Thursday and the place was pleasantly buzzing with happy people enjoying food and drink. Nice menu with old favourites and some slightly more adventurous items including their Grazing menu (basically tapas). Lots of car parking and plenty of staff. My new favourite pub.
