I'm surprised about the short measure comments - when I visited they were using over-sized glasses. Is this not still the case?

What a great place! Twenty handpulls serving eighteen real ales & a couple of ciders, as well as a dozen craft/keg beers, but unlike the Euston Tap plenty of comfy seating and loos that aren't accessed by spiral staircase - what's not to like?! It's slightly hidden behind (east of) the other station pub (Coopers?), as if you go into the main station entrance from the Micklegate direction you can't see it. A rare 10 from me!

Cracking place with an impressive range of (up to 20) draught beers (a selection of bottles also available)! It's in a nice part of the city, a short stroll from the pedestrian area - well worth a look and spending some time in whilst working your way along the available brews... ;-)

Amazed to see this pub added within a month of my suggesting it - well done site admin! Tried to get into their sister place in Clerkenwell on a late Saturday afternoon in early March, but as the place was choc-a-bloc full decided to try here instead - when we arrived it was busy (but not as busy as Clerkenwell) & we found seats (hooray!). A good selection of ales, cider and perry on draught/gravity plus fridges of numerous bottles. Had a couple of pints of something 7%+ from Fyne Ales (smashing!) and would've stayed for a bite & tried others but we'd got dinner included in our hotel package. A solid 9/10 from me.

Whilst the Craft Beer Co. offerings in town are very good, this (and it's sister Cider Tap opposite) has to be the Daddy of real ale choice in London at the mo. A fantastic array of beers (27 founts from the wall) plus two big fridges offering many other wonderful beers, but be careful going to the loo upstairs (more importantly coming down) as the spiral staircase need full attention. They do pizza's too (from nearby) and the staff are all very cheerful and knowledgeable about what's available - makes me wish this was around when I was at the OU in MK 20+ years ago!

The Craft Beer Co, City of London
Ok, tried to get in here on an early Saturday evening in March but it was heaving (and probably rightly so), but rather than fight to get to the bar we did a volte-face to go to their sister outfit in Islington - can't seem to find the latter on here so have posted a 'new pub' entry (possibly joining the queue with many others but it took 6 months for my Blairgowrie additions to be added, so I won't hold my breath). I'll post a fuller review when the Islington branch shows on this site but it was excellent (not quite as full as here though so we could get a seat) and if in the same vein as here then Craft Beer Co. are definitely worth a look wherever you are. BTW, the Islington branch gets a solid 9/10 from me!

Fantastic place with seven own-brewed casks, three own-brewed kegs, three local ciders and four other keg lager/cider/beers that are out-sourced. The staff are brilliant, cheerful & enthusiastic and you can see the brewery downstairs behind the bar. The food is also very good too.
Lots of variety in beer styles, but sadly haven't made it past the excellent Street Lamp Porter despite several trips to-date!

This 'spoons opened in 2013 on the site of a former Woolworths, explaining the narrow but deep layout. The bar is located on the left long side, with a total of ten hand pulls in banks of five - to their credit there are usually seven or eight different beers on so not much duplication.
The staff are excellent, with tables cleared quite quickly on the few occasions I've been thus far. Definitely one of the best 'spoons I've been to in ages - long may they keep these standards up! With this and the nearby Ericht Alehouse, Blairgowrie is now well-served for real ale & cider.

A regular local CAMRA winner, with five or six hand pumps on giving a good range of very well-kept beers as well as a decent cider and/or Perry. The staff are great and it's easy to get into a good conversation with either them or fellow drinkers.
If you can get a seat by the fire (when lit) it's very easy for an hour or two to pass very pleasantly (sometimes dangerously so!) - well worth a look if you're in the area.

The Prince of Wales, Farnborough
Been visiting this place (admittedly irregularly) for over 10 years - still a gem that I'd be more than happy to have as my local! Excellent choice of ales at all times, with friendly staff and locals to boot - keep up the good work!

Visited in November 2011 and again earlier this month. On both occasions (mainly local) ales very well kept as was the Doombar. This pub has a nice, friendly feel to it and is well patronised by all age groups - probably all the better for it too!

The Applecross Inn, Applecross
Judith & co. run a tight ship here - you must stay over (here or nearby) so's you can have a good drink and meal! Without doubt one of the very best pubs I've been to in the UK (from Wick to the Isles of Scilly and Kent and most places in between - not been to NI yet so can't comment). Their sister place at Lewiston (the Loch Ness Inn near Drumnadrochit) is also worth seeking out and staying at/near.

This is such a great place - usually four ales on offer though this can be as low as one if you pick the wrong time. Always a friendly greeting and the staff are exceptional: a 'must visit' if you are in town.

One of the better 'spoons - the ales are almost always very well kept (only had to send back a few of pints in 5 years, changed each time without question) and the staff very friendly. OK, from time to time numbers of staff could be better, however given the remit from central office more they often than not excel. Definitely one to look in on if the fancy takes you.

Was recently back in the city and had to give The Parrot a once-over since my (fond) memories of cutting through the smoke/fug when it was Simple Simon's. The (very) new landlords are making a good start although sanding and varnishing various bits of garden furniture in the courtyard whilst folk were drinking and eating was a bit odd!
After a nice drink in the courtyard, came back in the evening and tried - OK demolished - the Wagyu burger: very nice indeed (if it is genuine Kobe beef then all the more amazing for the price)!
I fondly remember Indian summer afternoons in the courtyard many moons ago and think the current staff are doing a good job to keep this place near the top of any discerning ale-tipplers 'must visit' list in Canterbury. OK it might be Sheps, but when served well I'd happily chose 'Finger' any day.

Cellar 59, Lyme Regis
Superb venue on the main road through town. Entry down some steps (mind your head!) into a wonderful flag-floored area. IIRC 4 cask beers and about 10 keg craft ales available, with many bottles of their own Gyle59 brews & local ciders also available. The Gyle59 Porter (6.6% abc) was excellent! A place to savour and we’ll worth a visit - surprised to see it on here with no user ratings: hopefully this post will sort that!
