| Chose this pub to meet up wiith some old friends and we were well catered for. There was a large Hen Night party butthe staff moved us to the back of the pub and helped us move some tables so we could all sit together. Beer was fine and service was prompt and efficient. | One of the better 'spoons - the ales are almost always very well kept (only had to send back a few of pints in 5 years, changed each time without question) and the staff very friendly. OK, from time to time numbers of staff could be better, however given the remit from central office more they often than not excel. Definitely one to look in on if the fancy takes you. | Typical Wetherspoons located just across from the river Tay in Perth. The open-plan room itself is a large drinking hall with high windows overlooking the riverbank. Although a wall prevents you viewing the river itself. A slighly raised area at the side features bookshelves and overlooks what I presume was a church. Brewsters Rutterkin, Strathaven Summer Glow, Adnams Gunhill, Caledonian Deuchars IPA & Greene King Abbot Ale were the real ales on offer. | A very large building that used to be a TSB bank,although on the inside it's rather smaller feeling and quite dull. I popped in during the afternoon fish & chips promotion so it was hard to tell whether the aroma of fish was the food or the pensioners bulking the place out... 5 handpumps available of which i opted for a reasonable pint of Inveralmond 800, all in all its ok but nothing amazing 4 a spoons, 7/10 fat_beer_badger - 11 Jul 2010 22:54 |
