Best Guinness I have had in London, excellent jukebox and a proper meeting point between real London and real Ireland. Anyone who thinks this is a pretentious pub is probably pretentious themselves. This is a pub that will you make what you want of it and yourselves. And again the Arthur was magnificent, even if the younger barmaid couldn't quite get it perfect.

A few months back I went in there for a quick cooling pint of lager with a mate who lives nearby. Mistake. Owner had been cleaning the lines and hadn't entirely finished!!Awful pint. Will never go back!!

Typical Wetherspoons, like drinking on the moon. Didn't realise what it was until I wandered in. Shame as this is a lovely looking pub from the outside. Standard wetherspoons beer and service. Dreadful!!

A weird, weird place. Nicely furnished and feels like a cosy, traditional English pub but with some very strange staff. One guy with silly hair, a Russell Brand wannabe, keeps staring at everyone as if some sort of bizarre extra from Clockwork Orange and has destroyed my enjoyment of the place on any occasion I have visited. The other staff aren't much friendlier either. Still decent enough pub with a few good ales but appalling looking Guinness that isn't worth trying

Just moved to the area and for an Irishman it has a great Anglo-Irish feel to it. Very friendly and relaxed owner and staff, very clean and all the sport you want. Nice to have a pub offering the things expected of a traditional boozer in Highgate-football,jukebox, craic, friendly staff and a very decent pint of Arthur

Reminds me of home, proper Irish pub, although the actual design of the pub is a little weird. Not somewhere to bring the moose for a romantic meal but if you want a decent boys day out watching the GAA or the Celtic and hanker for a half decent pint of plain this is the place for you. Staff tend to have a sense of humour too.

The best of the pubs in the area. Friendly family run boozer. Slightly unusual building structurally and only generic beers on show. Dodgy Guinness but would definitely go back due to the friendliness and warmth of those behind the bar

Just noticed Jim Baxter's comment. Are you not selfish for bringing your heavily pregnant wife into this pub?
Anyway, was in here twice recently. The last time being for their recent 1920s day. I certainly like the decor of the pub although unfortunately not very comfortable and as we were in a large group we moved on quicker than expected. Service is standard for central London.Awful. Staff wander about slowly and aimlessly and can never remember more than one drink at a time and will somebody please show some one there how to pour a decent pint of Arthur.

While the decor is dreadful and the beer overpriced I had bigger issues here. Whilst being amused by patrons doing the usual lines of white powder in the cubicle of the men's toilet I was met with a rather cute little grey mouse. I personally have no issue with these creatures, in fact I am rather fond, but was quite disturbed as the premises serves food. When I pointed this out to the bar staff one went to investigate. When he came back, shrugged and said "I cannot see him". Glad they dealt with the matter so professionally. In general this is a dreadful pub, wannabe trendys, poor beer added to drugs and rodents.Certinly will not be back

Struggle to see how people have issues with this premises as I found the place and staff perfectly charming. Only went into to briefly meet someone but ended up staying for a couple of drinks. Was nice to have such a friendly and welcoming manager, a rarity in London, and a fine range of beers and ales well served and presented.Look forward to going back to try the food.
