Nice food, though portion could be better for the price. 6.30 for one glass of wine is ridiculous ! Get real. Would have stayed longer but not at those prices.

Visited this pub last Sunday. Always had very good meals hence the return visit. Gone downhill since our last visit. Very disappointing. Had Hunters Chicken which comprised of a luke warm rubbery piece of chicken, few chips and peas. Partner had steak pie which comprised of a pie, one spoonful of mash and one spoonful of cabbage. Still hungry so had pudding. Bannoffi Pie came out warmer than the Hunters Chicken which was rather worrying. Won't be going back. Our meal at Table Table in Holes Bay Poole was far nicer.

Visited this pub tonight. Despite reading reviews on here had a meal which was very nice. Large portions, freshly cooked and hot. Pub was busier than most for s Friday night.

Re-visited last Sunday, still excellent. Had a very good Sunday Carvery. Advisable to book as the pub was heaving at 6:30pm. Very popular.

Visited this pub yesterday. Rubbish. Spent ages waiting for someone to take our food order (pratting about behind the bar and ignoring us). Main course was brought out - no starters!!!! Enquired where the started were, we were apologised too and asked if we still wanted the starters - main meal was only luke warm anyway, so would've been cold by the time they had sorted out starters. The one and only time I have had battered scampi ....... Shame really as nice looking pub in a good location.

Have visited this pub twice now with my partner. Food is excellent. The only pub I have visited where the food is piping hot. Menu is changed frequently so as not to become boring. Landlord very friendly. Well worth a visit.

Called into this pub for an evening meal with my partner and two children. Were unable to have a meal due to the sign on the bar saying "cash only". Therefore left the premises without purchasing a drink. How many people carry cash on them when going out for a meal?

Gets very busy in the summer months, typically an hours wait for a table, therefore booking advisable. Pub is part of a "chain" and menu very "chainy". Food very good and average priced. Ideal weekend getaway with Travel Inn next door and pebble beach across the road.

Very good value for money food. Sunday roast for 4.45 and very good sized portions.

Have used this pub for last 14 years whilst on holiday in Dorset. Lovely setting and location. Called in there yesterday for a meal. I endorse the previous comment by Graham. Top end of the market price-wise, 9 for a large scampi, which to be honest, was a very mediocre portion. Also, queue for the bar was delayed by food orders being taken. They should go back to food orders at the food counter and instigate a queue for the bar.

Visited this pub today. Only had a sandwich, but it was the best sandwich I have ever had. Steak and stilton with onion and mushrooms. Rocket lettuce, dill and a few crisps. Delicious. My partner had jacket potato with prawns which looked just as good. Will return for food.
