Now been renamed The Gardener's Arms, not sure why they thought it necessary to change the name.
Reopened fairly recently and we have used it a couple of time for the carvery on Sundays excellent food and pleasant staff.
Ther seems to be a bar area at the front of the pub with TV etc. but it's not intrusive at all.

The Anchor Inn (Hungry Horse), Hitchin
Pub has settled down and regular customers are in evidence particularly diners at weekends and lunch times. Good food and beer, normally one choice of real ale only but landlord tells me he is getting another line put in shortly.
Customers are a bit thin on the ground during the week, but that is true everywhere now unfortunately.

Long Arm and Short Arm, Welwyn Garden City
Still a 2 bar pub with a TV and dartboard in one side and dining facilities in the other.
Excellent carvery for Sunday lunch.

Now called The Venue, looks a bit too young for me, but to be fair I have not been in yet

Pub is now closed and beinf turned into a private house or flats possibly.

The Anchor Inn (Hungry Horse), Hitchin
This pub is no longer a Hungry Horse, but under the new landlord ( since early Summer 2010) it serves excellent food at reasonable prices up to about 10 pm.
The landlord has also weeded out most of the undesirables which used to make the air blue.

The Horse and Groom, Hatfield
Would agree with the previous poster, smashing little rather old fashioned pub with a friendly atmosphere and good real ales. Well worth a visit, especially for the bangers and mash!
