The Land of Liberty, Peace and Plenty, Heronsgate
Great pub for real ales. Was a bit crowded on this visit but worth waiting to get served.

Harte and Magpies Pub, Coleshill
Quite a pleasant pub with good real ales, but you get the impression that the food is the important thing and drinkers who are not eating are tolerated rather than welcomed and the staff are itching to close up as soon as the last diners have finished.

What a find! This pub has that relaxed cosy feeling that you only get in pubs that are centuries old. The 4 real ales available were all excellent. I tried them all (half pints of course). Aparently it is a runner up in the local CAMRA pub-of-the-year competition. Yet despite all this olde worlde charm, they were awarded five stars by the Environmental Health people (I didn't even know it went up to 5, I've only seen 3 proudly displayed before). I wish this pub was nearer to home but I will definitely be back just to check that the beers are always that good (and I'll remember not to eat beforehand next time because the food looked wonderful).

The Castle, Harrow On The Hill
Good selection of Fuller's ales in a pleasant old pub but service was a bit slow on this occasion.
