I have been going to this pub for over 10years and while the big refurbishment that took place at the end of 2008 by the current owners looks lovely, the pub has lost its atmosphere and can feel a bit soulless. Also the food is very pricey and can be a bit hit and miss at times. However the service is excellent and they are dog friendly!

The White Hart, Bishops Caundle
It is a must to visit this pub as I think they possibly have the best chef in Dorset! I also recommend checking out "Toss up Tuesdays" when you get to toss a coin to see if you have to pay for your meal, its brilliant!

I had a great lunch in this lovely, friendly pub today. Much as I was sad to see Alan & Alyson leave the new team led by Lance are doing a great job. The steak baguette was cooked to perfection and on such a lovely sunny day their beautifully kept garden was the ideal place to spend a Friday lunch time with friends! Also it was such great value at �2.95 for a baguette that I am sure I will be back again next Friday!!!

The Crown Hotel, Blandford Forum
I was in the Crown last Saturday lunch time and had a fantastic experience. The bar was nicely busy with a mixture of families, kids and adults making a lovely atmosphere. The service was efficient and friendly and I loved their fish finger sandwich! There is a new management team in this pub now and you can really tell the difference. Also the wedding party certainly seemed to be having a great time in spite of the rain as well!

The Crown Inn, Shaftesbury
This pub was buzzing when I paid a visit on my walk home from Tesco's a few weeks ago. The arrival of the new landlady has meant that this cute high street pub is now best described as "a boozer with style"!
