Gastropub on Teddington's High Street. The front room has the closest feel to a pub. There appears to be a larger dining area to the rear. We found a seat in a quieter area to the side of the bar. You can still eat in the bar area and food looked good. As for the real ales, there were Landlord, London Pride, Doom Bar & Atlantic. Has a fairly exclusive feel in all. But, drinkers still appear to be welcomed. blue_scrumpy - 13 Mar 2019 20:05 |
A cavernous restaurant with excellent, stylish, chef-prepared food at an affordable price. Yet a large front bar and front outside terrace where they give equal priority to supplying an excellent glass of ale (Doom Bar, Twickenham, Pride) without any pressure to eat. Real test was coming pre-match for Rugby at Twickenham when they were 100% full and under tight time pressure - they delivered excellent food from a shortened menu, spot-on ale, all with a smile and arranging a cab to the match was all part of the service. A quality pub with a large restaurant attached still well-grounded enough to still be a local to meet friends for a (excellent) pint. Congratulations! alelover100 - 14 Nov 2015 19:44 |
This is a superb (and very good value) restaurant, and although there are drinking sections, not really a pub in the conventional sense... mozzzzzz - 11 Mar 2013 16:38 |
Utterly soulless. I used to enjoy drinking here in the pub's previous incarnation, in that back room, past the restaurant Auberge, I think. They had comfy red sofas and lots of pot plants. If you swathe your ever-expanding beer gut in a pastel shirt and wear loafers in an unironic way, you'll fit right in these days. Revd_Cuntyman - 6 Jan 2012 15:12 |
A gastro-y sort of place with a long counter to the front. Twickenham Hornet and Doom Bar and Pride. A couple came in after me and asked for peanuts. Said the barmaid, "We don't do peanuts. We have smoked almonds, wasabi peas ..." Hilarity ensued. It also has a large car park and a shortage of places to tie up the bike. rainlight - 2 Jul 2011 19:02 |
