Pub remains friendly, but almost a ghost town on saturdays and still too exepensive.

I have always liked this pub, but last 2 visits bore out how expensive the beer is here compared with locals within staggering distance! Otherwise a nice pub with friendly bar staff.

I love this pub. It may not be the busiest and it doesn't serve food - but it's managed and staffed by a group of girls who will go out of their way to make sure patrons are made to feel welcome. There's a real mix of age groups from students on the busy Thursday night quiz to the wise sage regulars ready to chat about anything and everything! All are welcome to pull up a bar stool, buy a real ale or your favourite tipple, have a quiet read of the paper, get involved in the lively debate or throw some arrows at the new dartboard. It has a sunny garden with covered areas for the smokers (yes we do still exist) and a gorgeous pub dog, Reggie. No kids allowed in the bar but that's not a bad thing for most of us. So, if you want to escape the wife, make some new friends or just marinade quietly in the corner - go down and check it out!
