From the outside the pub looks very pleasant with a decent garden out front. However once inside the place is a disappointment, very bland and dull. Expensive to for what it is and the staff were rubbish. Won't bother again. 4/10 montie49 - 15 Jul 2017 11:53 |
This is a large pub with a garden area in front. Looks as if it has knocked through to form one large room. This leaves one area of the bar, in what is probably the main dining area, almost invisible from the drinking section. Agree about the problem with the stares from the locals. Although as early in the evening, the number of cars in the car park, seemed to equal the number sitting around the bar. So perhaps all were not from the village. That said. The staff were pleasent and welcoming. Beers from the O'Hanlon brewery just down the road. Yellow hammer and Firefly. I had the later which was very nice. Not likely to return tho. as the Mrs and I felt were unwelcome gatecrashers at a private party. captaineric - 14 Aug 2011 08:45 |
An attractive pub from the outside in quiet village surroundings. I visited on a weeknight and there were few customers. Once past the seemingly hostile looks from some locals sitting outside , (I am not a local) I found the bar staff to be pleasant. Food was good with a decent choice and well cooked and presented. There is a book swap scheme going on inside and I saw two I would like to have read but alas had nothing to trade! Would visit again. Jaguarman - 18 Jun 2009 13:02 |
