Thought I'd try this pub so I could complete my cask marque pubs of the Wakefield area. I'd say this pub is in the wrong end of town which is why it was quiet. I had a pint of the silver king by ossett brewery which was on form. There's an open fire which was perfect.on a slightly cold day. The landlady was very chatty and gave us reason to go back. With the beer festival on this weekend I'd have a look in yourselves. Caskales - 8 Nov 2013 09:00 |
Now just one cask ale (TT). Recently went keg. Stone floors. Four distinct ares + Beergarden. TV for sport. Good food. On the Wakefield-Famous "Westgate Run". Accomadation available. Bluestone - 31 Oct 2006 08:16 |
good pub, good drink missing one of the most politest staff wheres she gone.Dark hair big girl bubbly curtious and polite shame most otherb staff dont follow in her foot steps.Agree about the mobile phone comment but when you have a manager who uses her mobile phone behind the serving area how can other staff learn thye right way.Would be nice to see the landlord actually dressed as a publican rather than a member of the over 50s ive lost it brigade. maddogdrinker - 2 Mar 2005 10:27 |
Let down by surly staff who are more interested in sending text messages than serving customers. Otherwise would be a great pub with real ale and a large marquee area at the back complete with big screen. Regular live Rugby League matches shown on big screen and other TV's in the various areas of the pub. alleycat - 23 Feb 2005 18:02 |
