| I've lived in North Leicestershire my whole life, but had never visited this pub in South Notts... we'd been walking our dog at Ruddington country park and came back via Clifton then Gotham, rather than the normal route through Bunny. The Cuckoo Bush is a really lovely village local; car park and garden to rear, with three rooms in the pub and a central bar. The small rectangular room off the main bar is a gem... tiled floor and bench seats around it's edges, with tables and stools in the centre. A roaring fire greeted us on a cold December day, with plenty of logs and also bellows, to really heat it up. Lots of old pub relics giving it an older, maybe 60's / 70's feel. 4 real ales, including a Timothy Taylor, one I can't remember and 2 guest Christmas ales. The barmaids were chatty and friendly, as were the locals. Apparently food is also good but although we didn't eat that day, I'm sure we'll be back. Barrow_Beer_Hunter - 2 Jan 2023 22:10 |
